I booked a superior room via Expedia and put in a special request for a high floor, and was given room 419. On the fourth floor, the lowest of all the rooms. To make things worse, the glass door to the shower area was not working properly, the top hinge of the door is detached from the wall and the whole weight of the glass door was supported by the bottom hinge and is an accident waiting to happen. I just kept the glass door open throughout my two night stay.

The taxi to the airport should be about 50-60RM. However, the doorman colluded with the taxi driver to charge us 80RM, telling us Malaysia taxis don't go by meter. This is a far cry from the other proper bukit bintang hotels that will insist the taxi turn on their meter for the guests.

The area is dodgy at best, it is a ten minute walk from Imbi station (monorail) through dilapidated shophouses with the roofs crumbling and uneven pavement. If you have heavy luggage, this is not the hotel for you unless you (1) drive or (2) take a taxi.

Although my room was on the 4th floor and breakfast is on the 3rd floor, getting to and fro takes at least 10-15min due to insufficient lifts. When I asked if it is possible to take the stairs, the staff advised against it. Breakfast was mediocre at best, the selection was limited and staff are not aware that some of the food need to be topped up. At times, guests were made to share tables and non-smoking guests were put together with smoking guests without thought.

The room was really huge. It had its own sitting living room with a tv and a corner for the working desk. There is a separate room for the bedroom (with no windows). The bathroom was located directly behind the bedroom door, and I could not find the bathroom for a while. I had to close the bedroom door to see the bathroom door. TV channels are also limited for a 4 star hotel. There is no view at all. If you are ok sleeping in a windowless room. This is the place for you.

While we were checking in, a lady who was before us left the counter to consult with her friends on the price of the room. As the receptionist tended to us, the lady cut in and the receptionist told us rather abruptly that she had to serve the other lady first. All these while in the middle of charging a deposit to my credit card. I had to tell her to transfer our half finished checking in to another staff to prevent an indefinite wait between the receptionist and the negotiating customer.

Overall I think there is a lot to improve.

Reasonable hotel in good location, rooms are pleasant enough for a standard 4 star hotel.. nothing special.. Breakfast assortment of food was great, just the atmosphere on a busy weekend morning resembles a food hall... so eat early...

Parking is inlcuded, a bonus as many other hotels in the centre charge...

Stayed her for 3 nights in March while i was extending my visa for Thailand. Really liked the place

Check in was very efficient and the very pleasant receptionist even upgraded us which was really nice. Our room was nice and big with excellent views of Petronas Towers and the whole city.
Breakfast was good but busy buy you would expect this in a big hotel. Concierge were great and they gave us good advice where to go and how to get there. Location is excellent. Monorail stops very close to them and a 7 minute walk will have you at there front door. It is also well located for visiting all the sites of KL.

Overall. we had a great stay and loved the Furama.

Great rooms (mine was a one bedroom suite although I paid for a standard room - not sure if all the rooms are this size but they didn't mention I was getting any upgrade when I checked in)... huge, brand new, very well equipped, great view over the city. Location is not bad either and just across the road from a shopping mall. Buffet breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Overall, easily the best value I've ever seen for a hotel - some $70 for a room (incl breakfast and internet) that could easily cost $200+ (even though KL is a pretty cheap city).
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Higher floors have great city views.

Reasonable room. Seems newly refurbished. But slow service at checkin. Can't complain. Be aware that taxis will refuse to take you into the city centre unless you pay a premium.
