I go to KL a lot from where i live in Bangkok and have often found it quite hard to find what i call a budget hotel that is not dark, dirty, old or out of town. Frenz ticks every box for sure. It took me 8 minutes to walk from Masjid Jamek LRT to get to the hotel, and Masjid Jamek is only 2 stops to KL Sentral where you can get the train or bus to the airport, superb location. The other way along the LRT line (Keyan Putra) three stops to KLCC and the Petronas towers and shopping centre, again, great central location, easy interchange with the mono rail to get to Bukit Bintang area, China town etc.

Staff, smiling every time i walked in and out, good morning/afternoon/evening/hi Mr. Smith. Every question i had they had the answer to, very helpful. Room was superb for this price range, utterly perfect. Large wall mounted LCD TV, although Limited range of English TV channels. Lovely rain shower unit with hot water, which you would normally see in a 5 star place. Bed was for sure 5 star, slept best ever! Room also has kettle, tea and coffee, fridge, iron and ironing board, fold down desk area and faultless wi-fi to help me work when there. Seriously i can not fault this place at all. I do not doubt for one minute this place will become popular as hell and then the price will rise to its true value.....higher than it is now.

Breakfast next door in the Tam Tam, for me superb. Many disagree i see but i love Malay/Indian/Arabic food so the addition of Naan Bread with Curry Sauce choice was heaven. Scrambled eggs one day, friend the next, beans, toast, wedges etc......i thought it was again an excellent buffet for the prices i paid for the room. I even ate dinner in their two nights!!

Best yet for the price i paid, to get better than this i would have to go over U$100 per night for sure......thoroughly recommended and believe me, i travel!

Note on cleanliness, they hoovers, scrub and polish the floors all the time! very clean hotel!

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the end of a corridor, so only one adjoining as sound proofing here is not the best i have heard!

The Frenz Hotel is a great place to stay if you are on a budget (or even if you're not!)

The rooms, while small, are well-appointed and clean. The bed is extremely comfortable--so comfortable, in fact, that I would say it was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, even in the early hours of the morning! We were always greeted with a smile and all of our questions were answered quickly!

The location is pretty good--it is about a 10-minute walk from the monorail and is close to restaurants, small shopping centres and many, many fabric shops.

The breakfast is a little underwhelming and is located in the restaurant next door.

We stayed for two nights over Christmas. The location of the hotel is very good, walking distance to the LTR. The night market behind the hotel was full of great food, as were the places around the hotel.

The shower was very good and the bathroom is large compared to the rest of the room. Make sure you turn on the water heater outside of the bathroom!

The free wi-fi was very fast. We will stay here again when we are next in Kuala Lumpur

Room Tip: Get something on a high floor.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a business trip and found the rooms small and very basic. Plus point was that it was clean (though one of the nights, I saw a small cockroach in the bathroom). The shower was complicating and I didnt realise that I had to switch on the heater switch outside the bathroom to get hot water.
Breakfast was not bad. Staff at recept was friendly. Rooms not sound proof . I could hear my neighbours' phone ring and thought it was mine!
What I liked was that there is free Wifi and rooms were comfortable , though outside the hotel looked "unglam". Recommended if you want a basic and comfy , no frills room.

We enjoyed our stay at Frenz. The rooms were fine, much larger than "Tunes". The frosted glass windows did not worry us at all. The room was still bright and airy and the bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet, with no road noise at all.
We stayed a week so it was great to have a wardrobe and an iron and ironing board to refresh our clothes. There was also a small small safe on top of the frig that was handy to store our passports and cash.
We stayed a week so it was great to have a wardrobe and an iron and ironing board to refresh our clothes.
The bathroom was modern with nice little extras like a pull out washing line in the shower. The twin head shower was a challenge at first with all the taps, but it was lovely to enjoy the rain shower for a change.
A 32" flat screen tv was a plus, but would have been even better with a news channel and maybe another English variety channel and having a desk to work on was a big plus for us as this was primarily a business trip
There were 2 train stations close by: Bandaraya & Masjid Lamek.
Breakfast was included with our room and that was served in the restaurant next door from 7am to 10am. It was buffet style with Malaysian, Indian and Western choices. The food was changed slightly each day and was well presented and well stocked with dishes being replaced as soon a tray was emptied.
We were also lucky to find the “Shogo café” that served great coffee and superb food at very reasonable prices too. It is located in front of the foodhall on the ground floor of the Sogo Plaza Building beside the escalator.
All in all we had an enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff was always pleasant and very helpful with good local knowledge and really did make us feel like Frenz!
