Owner description: Food has always been part of our communities. Having multiple ethnicities where you live gives you great chance to be a part of so many celebrations. And with all these celebrations there is always a meal. So you see, us Malaysians take our food very seriously. Food Tour Malaysia Food in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur is unique. Some dishes here you will not be able to find in other parts of the country, and if you do, chances are that they probably could trace their roots to these 2 cities. Penang being the only other exception. The daily ritual of eating communally is one of the most endearing of Malaysian experiences. It is warm, and it's at the dinner table where you get to really understand and get the authentic 'feel', the heartbeat of the Malaysian community.

“Best tour in KL!”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

This was the undoubted highlight of our stay in KL. We ventured out to the suburbs to begin our tour. Our guide, Farah was a great host bringing us around to a host of places that we would have never have seen otherwise. On the night we visited Malay, Chinese, India eateries and we saw and tasted things we had not eaten previously. These were all local places so don't expect luxury surrounds but do expect (lots!) of super food, good company and great fun. If you have a spare night in KL then book this tour and ask for Farah!

“Great tour and tour guide!”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

Had a great time with our tour guide, Jacintha. We were only in KL for a few days, but got to experience many varieties of Malaysian cuisine in a short amount of time... very efficient! Highly recommended, especially to my foodie friends and family members.

“What a great tour!”

This is a must do for anyone who wants to discover the food in Kuala Lumpur. Darren was a fantastic guide, and gave us exactly what we were hoping for with his tour which was to have great food which we would not have found on our own. Very glad we chose this over some other options that were available. Would highly recommend tour anyone at any levels of age.

“The BEST way to see KL!”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

Had a great time exploring KL with Michelle. Great variety of food and lots of variety, from places that we wouldn't have found on our own. We expected to learn lots about Malaysian cuisine but we learnt so much more - about politics, religion, pop culture, and lots more. We were fortunate to be visiting during Ramadan so experienced a local Muslim market and the breaking of fast at a neighborhood restaurant. Highly recommended.

“Great tour!”
Reviewed August 1, 2012

Me and my girlfriend took the "off the eaten track" tour when we were i KL in June, it was our first time in Asia and we thought it would be great to start with a food tour to get to know the local food. The meeting point was a 20 minute metro ride out of the city center, so you get to see a part of the city most tourists not get to see. Our guide, Darren, was on time and waited for us with his car when we arrived. They keep the groups small so it was only the two of us on the tour. We started off with a tour of a local food market where we tried some different fruit and Darren explained what everything was and how it could be used in cooking. Next stop was a hawker center where we tried some fish and some kind of soup. The third stop was perhaps our favorite stop, an Indian place where we got different kinds of bread, chicken, sauce and Masala tea. The tea was especially good and we kept on drinking the stuff when we where in KL. The fourth and last stop was a Chinese outside restaurant where we got a lot of different stuff, black chicken soup among other stuff, almost too much! The tour took around four hours and Darren dropped us off at our hotel in city center. We would absolutely recommend this tour for any food lover who would like to see a different part of KL and try some really good food!
