Overall the is a great place to stay for singles or couples looking for a quite retreat away from kids and work. The location is near perfect, with it being within walking distance of the towers and nestled safely in the diplomatic quarter. We arrive at the hotel late in the evening and the staff were quick to go out and purchase a meal and wine for us as the kitchen had already closed. It wasn't until when we were settling the account that we realised it was complimentary - after a long flight it was exactly what we needed and went a long way to setting the right tone for the rest of the week. What followed over the next 7 days was a similarly high level of service from the cheery staff. The grounds are well kept, simple but hinting at a tropical paradise. The rooms were spacious and well appointed, with a separate living room to our bedroom and en-suite. Very minor drawbacks were the lack of an internal phone in the room, and something that seems to be endemic in all of KL, the wait staff were quite new and didn't appear to be fully across the menu. Having said that, the barman competently mixed the range of cocktails that were on the menu - best bloody mary I've had in years! I would definitely stay again, and look forward to staying at their island resort on the next trip.

This place is like a little oasis in the middle of KL. We had he loft room which had its own private pool and deck which was amazing. The room was beautifully furnished and unique. Cherie and her staff couldn't do enough for us - from cocktails to chauffeurs and everything in between! One thing - make sure you have a map to ensure the taxi driver can locate - its a little hidden away (which makes it all the more exclusive). I would definitely stay here again!!!

The villa is a beautiful and unexpected hideaway located in the heart of KL. You would never expect to find it in the location you do and it is quite serene. Small and intimate and the staff are friendly and accommodating. We drove from Singapore for a leisurely and laid back long weekend and we achieved that goal.

The good; the room was nice and unique with direct access to the communal pool, the minibar, wifi and nice bathroom amenities are all included in the price (I enjoy when this happens as it seems in this day and age you are dinged with every little charge when you embark on luxury travel), I WAS THRILLED TO DISCOVER THE THREE RESORT DOGS LOCATED JUST BESIDE OUR ROOM - especially the Golden and the Beagle - we became fast friends and enjoyed slipping off our balcony over to their play area to feed and play with them

The improvements; no one came for turndown either night and as such the nice incense burners were not lit (maybe we were supposed to light them ourselves but no matches could be found), the selection of tea and hot chocolate which we enjoyed our first night were not replenished all weekend (we didn't ask mind you, but assumed this would have been done, there is no convenient plug with an associated table to charge your phone or ipad overnight (we ended up gerry rigging the tea box holder to act as our table to keep our stuff up off the floor, the pool water was very cloudy and dirty (I didn't ask but assumed this was because it seemed not to be chlorinated - natural - in keeping with the rustic theme of the villa - nevertheless, it did make it uncomfortable to swim in, the villa claims to be "no kids"......don't believe them - a large family group had checked I and had a screaming baby with them - when I mentioned this to the front desk on checking out they simply laughed nervously and said..."well at least they are only staying one night". This hardly mattered to us as we had specifically booked this place due to "no kids". They said they couldn't control it when it was booked by agents. I say you can control it - DON'T LET THEM CHECK IF THIS IS YOUR PUBLICLY STATED POLICY ON YOUR WEBSITE.

Suggest you don't use the spa they contract with. It was the dirtiest spa I have ever visited for a place of this advertised luxury. In the end due to the uncleanliness of the headrests and the linens, we opted to only do a foot massage.....whereby they proceeded to leave us in our hard wooden dining room chairs and the therapists writhed around on the hardwood floor with the senior therapist guiding the junior therapist working on my partner verbally the whole time. I don't know how those poor therapists suffered through it to be honest. It was no wonder we were the only ones in the place on a Saturday afternoon

BUT THE WORST THING - we discovered that each night the helpless resort pets/dogs had a canvass muzzle wrapped tightly around their snouts presumably to prevent barking and disturbing the guests. This is animal abuse and when dogs can only sweat via panting and their tongues, wrapping them up each night while it is 35 degrees and humid every night....is unacceptable. I would prefer the barking to this cruel treatment. Please stop doing this.

This place has real potential and the site and rooms itself were quite enjoyable for R&R.

Although the setting and decor are amazing, what makes Villa Samadhi a thoroughly memorable experience is the attention to detail given by Cherie and her team - John, Boo, Tash and Farah to name just a few of the very special individuals who made my stay so enjoyable. Forget about the big, faceless chain hotels for your next business trip - the very short taxi drive form the city centre is well worth it. I stayed for 4 nights, and would not think of staying anywhere else on my next trip to KL.

We spent the first night of our honeymoon at Villa Samadhi for our "romantic getaway" before we headed to Nepal for hiking. This resort is a real tropical escape, it didn't feel at all like we were in central Kuala Lumpur.

The service was lovely with some very convenient extras included for us, which really made our stay smooth and stress-free. Only thing I would recommend to them is that given they knew we were on our honetmoon, perhaps they could have decorated the room a little romatically, as an extra touch. But otherwise the facilities were fantastic, we loved the jacuzzi and the beauty of the outdoor pool area. Thank you Villa Samadhi!

We stayed for one night to celebrate our registration of marriage. Located in a quiet neighbor of embassies, bungalows and exclusive residences, Villa Samadhi's setting is relaxed and private. There are no signage on the exterior, except for a small plaque stating that this villa is part of the secret retreats group. Parking is limited but covered. Wood is the main feature of this property's design, you will notice a traditional door lock instead of a modern key card. The lighting elements, which includes some open fire incorporated into the landscaping is very sexy. The villa provided sarongs which is an excellent idea, I used it for lounging in the room. They provided a selection of black and green teas bags from TWG. The bed is very high but comfortable. There's an ipod dock available. We didn't experience the turn down service as expected from most resorts of this nature. The overall experience was unique and satisfactory.

Stayed for three nights over my birthday. Perfect setting to relax. Perfect staff to help with every request.

The rooms are amazing. Suggested restaurants have beautiful, fresh food.

Left feeling so refreshed and content.

The staff have sent luggage of ours (free of charge) to Berlin ahead of our arrival there and also a credit card that arrived after we'd departed.

Thank you so much Villa Samadhi and Cherie.

Best described as Kuala Lumpur's ultimate treat to nest in. This ravishing villa-in-a-room boutique hotel is one-of-a-kind in the capital city. Tucked within an upscale locale just 10 minutes drive from town, Villa Samadhi becomes an immediately accessible respite to restore soul into one’s exhausted self. Its collection of 21 contemporary Asian-inspired rooms, with each spanning from 600 square-foot to over 2000 square-feet of living spaces are accented with a collage of elements to create a raw yet sophisticated Asian dwelling. Discreetly recede from street view, the most distinguishing feature of Villa Samadhi is the massive, soaring grass thatched-roof that shouts 'Malaysia'. But most eye-catching is the mysterious-looking multi-layered thatched roof structure of the rooftop bar-lounge ‘Bumbung’ which is floating above all else.
