We were there for a short, lazy getaway, arriving on a Sunday. The building appeared rather deserted and the check-in on the 11th floor was swift. The small reception area was nicely decorated (although it felt so hushed and silent!) and overlooked the first infinity pool in the building which was specifically meant for hotel guests.
Our room on the 12th floor was spacious, with a nice comfy bed, a selection of different types of pillows, study table and a lazy/reading chair. The window was huge with a ledge big enough for one to sit. The bathroom and a walk-in closet were more compact, set next to each other. The bathroom was clean and had a nice rainforest shower head but I was quite disappointed that it did not come with a bathtub. There was a small flat screen TV though in the bathroom, in case you really could not afford to miss a program that was being aired, I suppose. The complimentary coffee/tea selection in the room was quite limited. Overall, the design and layout of the room was neat and pleasant.
Breakfast was to be on the 28th floor, at a very executive-looking cafe. There were a couple of breakfast meetings going on the few times we were there for our morning meal. Food and the selection was average and quite basic. Some cereals, pastries, fruits and juices, coffee, tea and the likes. I suppose the service crew was attentive, although we did not really need much of their service then. Overall, it was just an average and quite a solemn experience. :)
The best thing for us at this hotel was the infinity pool on the 11th floor. It was not super huge but it was pretty. No doubt we were only treated with more sights of high-rised buildings, but a late afternoon swim in an almost-deserted pool was very relaxing. There was also a cold jacuzzi area at one corner of the pool and a hammock, if you wish to just chill out with a book after a swim.
Location wise, the hotel was literally about 5 - 7 minutes walk to the Ampang Park LRT Station. This was just one stop away from KLCC itself so that was pretty convenient. It was also a short drive (perhaps 10 mins? depending on traffic) to Bukit Bintang area.
This is definitely the place if you are looking for peace and quiet with no extra frills or if you are on a business trip. Deinitely not for the family.
