“a quiet and rather brisk, business-like stay”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

We were there for a short, lazy getaway, arriving on a Sunday. The building appeared rather deserted and the check-in on the 11th floor was swift. The small reception area was nicely decorated (although it felt so hushed and silent!) and overlooked the first infinity pool in the building which was specifically meant for hotel guests.

Our room on the 12th floor was spacious, with a nice comfy bed, a selection of different types of pillows, study table and a lazy/reading chair. The window was huge with a ledge big enough for one to sit. The bathroom and a walk-in closet were more compact, set next to each other. The bathroom was clean and had a nice rainforest shower head but I was quite disappointed that it did not come with a bathtub. There was a small flat screen TV though in the bathroom, in case you really could not afford to miss a program that was being aired, I suppose. The complimentary coffee/tea selection in the room was quite limited. Overall, the design and layout of the room was neat and pleasant.

Breakfast was to be on the 28th floor, at a very executive-looking cafe. There were a couple of breakfast meetings going on the few times we were there for our morning meal. Food and the selection was average and quite basic. Some cereals, pastries, fruits and juices, coffee, tea and the likes. I suppose the service crew was attentive, although we did not really need much of their service then. Overall, it was just an average and quite a solemn experience. :)

The best thing for us at this hotel was the infinity pool on the 11th floor. It was not super huge but it was pretty. No doubt we were only treated with more sights of high-rised buildings, but a late afternoon swim in an almost-deserted pool was very relaxing. There was also a cold jacuzzi area at one corner of the pool and a hammock, if you wish to just chill out with a book after a swim.

Location wise, the hotel was literally about 5 - 7 minutes walk to the Ampang Park LRT Station. This was just one stop away from KLCC itself so that was pretty convenient. It was also a short drive (perhaps 10 mins? depending on traffic) to Bukit Bintang area.

This is definitely the place if you are looking for peace and quiet with no extra frills or if you are on a business trip. Deinitely not for the family.

I have stayed at many hotels around the world but I cannot remember the last time I had to tip-toe to shave! I am not sure why they had put the shaving mirror at such a height because if an average man like me has to tip-toe, I cannot imagine a shorter person using it.

This hotel is pleasant but definitely not luxurious in any way - definitely not 5 stars in my opinion. Elevators were very confusing and was shared with occupants of the office tower (insecure maybe?). Service was OK, but nothing to write home about. I had a fresh fruit juice at "The Club" but nothing else so I guess I cannot really comment on the food aspect. The pool looks very inviting though!

Anyway, it was a good enough overnight stay and I am just about to check out of the hotel right now!

After 5 weeks of backpacking in reasonable hostels, this place was a welcome treat. Never have i appreciated the value of flannels, tissues, mini bar, concierge etc so much - bliss! The design is sleek, modern, unfussy - just how I like it, it's targeted as a business hotel (you get use of the members club upstairs) but the pool, gym and location make it a great place to stay on vacation.

I had a drink in the club bar - nice view, and in the views bar. - a great view of the petronas towers at night. I also ate in the Tanzini restaurant which was pretty good too. Breakfast in the club was a very nice buffet (and I've tried a lot) and they cook your eggs to order.

The poolside was really nice, very quiet, and there is a jacuzzi bed etc.

iPod dock was a nice touch, as are the do not disturb buttons and Japanese toilet!

Staff were all friendly and helpful and overall this provided excellent value for money. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and it would be my first choice hotel for my next visit to KL

Nice little hotel in Kuala Lumpur. I didn't expect much to begin with but was pleasantly surprised by the ambience and feel of the hotel from checking in all through to the pools and room. The room was decent sized and the bed was very relaxing. The Rooftop Bar was awesome, due to the fact all the staff were friendly and there having a great time which shows. Definitely will come back and party it up again at the hotel =)

After coming back from Bali we've decided to stop by KL for 2 nights.
I was in KL a week before that and i've stayed at Shangri-la hotel. That what exactly made me rate this hotel as 'average'.
The breakfast was disappointing and the sleeping quality wasn't that great at all.

The room was spacious and very clean but the bathroom was tiny. The best thing about the hotel is the good location that's within walking distance to the subway station.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on vacation, not for business. It is literally a 2 minute walk from the metro station which is so convenient for getting around KL and getting to and from the airport. It is one stop away from the KLCC stop which offers all sorts of shopping and every sort of delicious food imaginable!

As for the hotel, check in was easy. We personally like modern style & decor so this hotel really appealed to us. The rooms were very nice and clean. The bed and pillows, also super comfortable. The tv had many great choices of channels and the complimentary high speed wi-fi was also great. (Some hotels in KL do not offer this which is a hassle).

There are 2 pools in the building. One on the lower floor with a beautiful gym next to it. The other infinity pool is located on the 11th floor right near check in and the guest rooms. This too was beautiful and impressive, however, there were some guests smoking by the pool, which definitely soured it for us. If you are not allowed to smoke in gyms, why should you be allowed to smoke at public pools where other guests may be trying to exercise or just want to breathe in the fresh air and relax?

Breakfast was in a very nice restaurant on the 28th floor. Many have written about the food choices not being good and quality not good? This was our last stay of 5 hotels in Malaysia on this vacation, and we would have to say the breakfast was decent. The coffee was the best of all the other breakfasts. We thought the fruit and food was fresh. The only thing missing is an "egg/omelette" bar. At least for Western guests, most do like their custom made morning egg. But overall, we were happy with most of the choices they offered.

Overall, the stay was great. The prices are very competitive in KL. We hope that GTower will offer lower rates inclusive of breakfast. If they do, we will definitely return!

Room Tip: If we remember correctly, the hotel is located on the 11th floor of the GTower Business center. The...
