I was searching for a hotel and was next door to Anggun Boutique hotel when one of those heavy downpours made me take cover.

The hostel next door was a dump. I remember when Anggun was built in 2010 and saw it everytime I walked around my neighborhood off Tengkat Tong Shin.

The owner, Sharon, is a nice Chinese woman. After chatting briefly I decided to splurg and pay the RM200+ to stay for the night. After all it was pouring down rain and I was carrying 50kg in luggage.

Balinese style. Cute bar outside. And the "house cat" is adorable (photo enclosed).

BUT only a few cable channels!!!

Everything else was warm and welcoming.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Perfect location. Cool decent bar/cafe. Great spa session. Everything you need for a stayaction.

For rooms with views, I'm not too sure if they have it. Maybe they do but not much? So it would be good to check with the hotel before you assume.

What a gorgeous little hotel . Very homely with friendly staff and amazing attention to detail. The food was cheap and delicious. We had breakfast included and had Malaysian lunch which was delicious and included a juice for around $3 AUD There is a wonderful massage and spa at the hotel . Avoid rooms on the ground floor near the lift though
Highly recommend this lovely place . All the furniture was beautiful and the entire hotel had a homely warm feel .

I came to stay for one night, but due to visa issues ended up staying on for five.
The hotel is very well located and nicely appointed for what is essentially a budget hotel.

The management has a thrifty - no frills approach that is balanced with a reasonable sense of style. Rooms are small and many have no window, but they are nicely decorated. Occasionally the no-frills approach is just a tad too much, for example the super cheap and dodgy instant electric hot water systems in the bathrooms, very limited TV channels, slow internet and frankly pathetic breakfast and lunch offerings.

but... It is well located, and well priced, has a sense of being just a tad more classy and boutique-ish than the other options in the area and the staff are really friendly. I mean at this scale they can easily remember who you are, and you them.
To make up for the totally crap free breaky and pathetic lunch offering, the cafe in front does a great coffee and a pretty reasonable breakfast and right next door on one side is a classic KL curry spot and on the other a great cheap laundry (as room rates are crazy)
I will definitely be back, but to be frank... just a tad more investment and care in the right areas and this really could deserve five stars, and the fact that it does not, is I think, a silly management decision. It leaves you with that "slightly miserly Chinese business owner" feel, instead of leaving with a warm inner glow of feeling like you had an amazing hospitality experience...
Sadly I also do'nt have any sense that this is the kind of business that will bother to take on board review comments like this. But there you have it. If they continue to sit still the rapidly expanding competition will soon leave them in their wake

Stayed here a couple of times. Beautiful decorated rooms with good bed and bathroom en suite. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Location is excellent, nearby Jalan Alor and on walking distance to Petronas Towers and shopping malls, like Pavilion.
Although it's situated in a busy street, it's surprisingly peaceful and quiet.
They serve food and there's an outside bar for a coffee or a cocktail and next door is a really good local Indian restaurant that's open 24/7.
On the upper floor you can treat yourself on a massage or manicure.
A charming place to start and end your trip through Malaysia. Great value!
