“A little oasis in hectic Kuala Lumpur”
Reviewed December 8, 2010

We spend 4 nights in total in this nice accomodation. We stayed here 3 diffrent times in the months of july and august 2010. The very first I made a reservation, and as soon as we entered the Rainforest, we felt like home. We liked it so much here that we decided to come back after returning from Borneo.
We had a familyroom twice, which I can really recommend! So much space, and the best beds ever in whole Malaysia!
As we were with 5 people (parents and 3 teenagers) they'd put an extra very comfy matress each time.
The bathroom was very good and spacy as well. We had a television, and there was free internet downstairs. The wifi did not work in the rooms, but downstairs it worked OK.
We payed 205 ringgit for the familyroom (180 + 25 for the extra matress) including a good breakfast. The breakfast is served down in the lobby as a little buffet. You get breads, toast, cereals, coffee/thee or milk. And fresh fruits every day.
You can do your laundry for a good price too!
The second time there was no familyroom available, so we'd split up to a countyard room, and a double room. Our double room was very tiny and had no windows. The diffrence between the spacy familyroom and the tiny dark double room could not have been bigger.
Therefore I would recommend you to get a room with a window. The 3th time we were lucky enough to get the familyroom again. What I also liked about the family room was that it was painted in a very lovely green colour. The hallway was painted in warm red/orange.
In the neighbourhood is the MRT (10 minutes walk, quite close), Bukit Bintang, (just around the corner, 10 minutes walk) You can walk to Petronas Twin Towers, it's about 20-25 minutes walking distance.
Just opposite you can find the Nagasari Curry house for very good and food at good prices. They serve Indian, Malaysian, Thai and western cuisine.

The Rainforest is getting more popular by the day, so if you want to go there you'd better make a reservation. It was totally full all the times we'd stayed there.

the location is good, walking distance to the towers and not far from the monorail.
BUT we arrived on a friday evening after a long flight from the UK feeling very tired, could i sleep? NO!
you can hear everything in this place, if someone dropped a pin on the floor you would hear it. slight exageration.
but the truth is, you could hear music till late in the morning, now i like a bit of dance music and will fall asleep to it, but these beats were bad and were vibrating through the whole place. the footsteps on the halls and stairs can be heard clearly.
outside my room the sound of the aircon was really annoying.
i read the reviews on here before booking, i would seriously consider another place.
the truth.

We stayed at the Rainforest BB just for 1 night, when we had a stop-over in KL in october and that was absolutely fine. We had a room without window for RM 105. The room was a bit sticky when we entered the first time, but the air-condition worked very well and we had a good sleep. There is free internet available in the lobby, which was nice. The best about the place from my point of view is its location. It is very close to bukit bintang and the main shoppin area. It was also just a stroll from Jln Alor (the street food market) where we had some fabulous dinner. As we only had 1 night, this bed & breakfast was absolutely fine for us and I would recommend it to anyone who just has 1 or 2 nights in KL.

Thank god we found this place. We had such a stressful time in KL and Rainforest was a relief to come home to and have become our base for travelling. They won't book you travel or anything but the staff are honest and open. Here's what you get: 105 MYR a night for a double room (nice rooms, clean sheets, comfy beds,TV, aircon, good bathrooms, safety box in the room, wardrobe, good mirrors - cheaper for dorm rooms), very close to Imbi Monorail station, chill out areas with sofas and big TVs, 2 movies on every night to watch in your room or in communal areas (you can choose what movies if you ask them!), purified drinking water available for free, free breakfast (cereal, toast, tea, fruit), free internet/computers with printing/scanning available, best laundry service we've had yet (very clean and pretty cheap), best location in town near lovely restaurants and bars (go to the Albion for a treat, Palate Palate just a couple of doors down, and Baghdad Cafe around the corner for cheap but good food), security outside, and nice staff. We checked out all the other B&B's in the area as most of them are here, and none of them compared in terms of cleanliness, facilities or price.

A friend and I stayed here for 5 nights in November. I am so glad we came across this place - it's excellent value for money (other people we met in KL were paying a fortune for accomodation!), in a fantastic location with excellent staff. The room we stayed in (standard double) was quite small, but felt bigger since one wall is mirrored, the bathroom was clean and spacious and we even had a tv (a luxury after the places we'd been previously!) The only downside to the room is that we had no natural light, which made it impossible to tell what time it was when waking up :) The staff were incredibly helpful, organising a tour to the elephant sanctuary for us, organising laundry and giving us helpful information about local sights and how to get there. The free internet was great, as was the breakfast - we loved having more than just white toast and coffee, which seems to be the norm around Malaysia. The location is great - central to everything, and about 2 minutes walk to the local monorail station. Easy and cheap to get to/from the airport (either terminal - we did both). I would definitely stay there again, and would go out of my way to recommend to others.

The staff here were lovely. Free internet, good (basic) breakfast, clean room. My only complaint would be that the room was very noisy, up on the top floor but this may be because we were there for deepavali and there was lots of celebrating going on outside. Bukit Bintang is a great area, lots of fantastic bars and good restaurants. Really glad I found this place.
