“Rainforest B & B”
Reviewed August 23, 2013 via mobile

A nice little stopover for 3 days in KL. the room is small but clean and the bathroom is well set out with a great shower with plenty of hot water. There are a couple of indoor lounges to use and these are very well appointed and comfortable. There is also an outdoor sitting area. It does get a little noisy at times but you are in the city and this is a small issue for the location you are in. It is a short walk to the street stalls and a 10 minute walk to the monorail.

There is plenty of good food to eat in KL, but go over to the Lust Bar just over the road from the front entrance of the Rainforest. Buy one beer and get 2 free. The food they provide is from the restaurant next door and is excellent and well priced. Do your research before you arrive as unlike the larger hotels, there is not a lot of info or help when you arrive, otherwise great value for your money.

the location is not really that great, you need to walk a lil bit to the monorail.
the price is a little high compared to other hotels in the area.
room was clean, simple and nice, big toilet with strong hot water but you can hear sound from other room (quite embarrassing if you and your partner are loud which i overheard it)
but overall, it worth your money

I have stayed here around 10 or 11 times in the past 7 months and it’s good…good and consistent.

ROOMS & AMMENINITIES
They are small but clean. I’ve only stayed in the private twins and the rooms have always been extremely clean. The showers hot (sometimes lukewarm), the beds confortable, and the small TV is…well, is there. There are, however, drawbacks. The walls are thin. I’ve clearly heard a neighboring room’s alarm go off in the morning. On weekends, music from the neighboring bars is equally audible. The breakfast is nothing to write home about, even comes off a bit lazy. But I guess it’s nice if you’re in a rush to make a tour. The balcony on the second floor is absolutely wonderful. It has fans, confortable chairs, and is lined with vines, giving a tree house façade.

LOCATION
This is what justifies the price tag. You’re right where you want to be; a 20-minute walk from KLCC, a 5-minute walk to the street stalls of Jalan Alor and next door to coffee shops and even a jazz bar.

SERVICE

The four-star Tripadviser rating has apparently gotten to their head. They aren’t much help with directions, booking taxis, etc. and can actually be a bit cold. It’s the same three people running/managing everyday, explaining their less than enthused personalities. But if you’re in the hospitality industry, you should probably be hospitable.

Rainforest is my home when Im in KL. I stayed here more then two months all together and I love the place. There is space for improvement though. The breakfast is a bit dull. If there were boiled eggs it wouldnt cost much and it would make it much better. We usually just skipped it as it wasnt worth getting up for. The rooms have no windows - well most of them, but that is normal in KL. I even stayed in some four star hotels that didnt have windows. The rooms are clean and the service is fantastic. The location couldnt be better. So overall - highly recommended.

The place itself is good value and is in a popular night club and restaurant location. A free basic breakfast is served every morning and there are a number of common rooms where you can sit, relax and connect to the free wifi. The main common room has free computer access to the internet.
We found our room spacious and with adequate appointments. The room is airconditioned which is a must.
There is no laundry, although you can pay 3 ringet per kilo to have your Clothing washed.
A number of loud nightclubs are located next door and we were pleasently suprised to find out that we could't hear any loud music or noise from our room.
One thing to note is the easiest way to get around KL is by train/monorail. The closest is the monorail which has two stations located approx 400m from the Rainforest. If you find it difficult to walk or have small children you may find this place not right for you.
Overall I would recommend the Rainforest B&B

We were in transit through KL arriving on a late Air Asia flight and needed a clean quiet place which we could check into at 1 am without hassles. This place met our needs very well. Restaurants open across the road were open at 1 am which was great. Small clean simple rooms with a very good bathroom. We would definitely stay here again. Adequate breakfast.
