We booked a 2 bedroomed apartment direct with the hotel. On arrival we had been upgraded to a 2 bedroomed executive suite. The room was huge - 2 full size double bedrooms with enormous beds, a kitchen area, dining table for 6 and a full size living area as well as 2 fully equipped bathrooms and a great view of the Petronas Towers. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful - even going as far as to tuck your towels round the sunbeds for you at the pool area. We got a bit lost trying to find the room initially as we hadn't got to grips with putting the key card into the lift to access the right floor - ended up on a wild goose chase down a service staircase, but I'm sure other people may be more switched on than us!

The pool area was lovely with a big adult pool and 2 smaller children's pools. It was never very busy either.

Breakfast was fantastic - a huge array of food with something for everyone. The children were able to get cereals, toast and fruit while my husband was tucking into curry, rice and noodles.

The hotel was in a fantastic position at the upmarket end of Bukit Bintang. Pavillion shopping mall was very nearby with lots of restaurants and a local food court.

We tried to stay here again when we got stuck in KL for extra nights because of the volcanic ash, but they could only do it at the rack rate for the 2 bed suite which was about 200 myr more than we initially paid, so we reluctantly had to find somewhere cheaper.

Stayed two nights. Rooms are spacious, clean & comfortable. Staff couldn't do more for you. Breakfast was awesome with such a great variety. Location is great - easy walk to Bukit Bintang and Petronas Towers area. Had stayed one night in March at the Hilton KL which may be just has the edge on this place, but at a much greater cost. If I was going back to KL I'd definitely stay here again. Only gripe I have is having to pay 15 MYR for an hours wifi access.

Stayed at Royale Chulan for 3 nights in April. Got complimentary treatments at the spa merely for enquiring about its opening hours. Staff at reception were a little slow in checking in but extremely friendly and courteous. Slight mishap shortly after arrival - a tile in the bathroom (which is huge and absolutely luxe!) fell off and smashed. We were immediately upgraded and moved to a suite instead! The breakfast buffet is sumptuous, you can't possibly try everything as there is too much to choose from. The rooms are large and comfortable and if you're lucky you get a room with a view of the Petronas Towers. The central location means just a short walk to downtown KL - brilliant!

We stayed at the Royale Chulan for three nights in April 2010. Our check-in expreience was not a good one. We had booked our room via the hotel website however upon checkin they had no record of our booking. Upon producing a printout of the confirmation number, we were left alone at the checkin counter for a good 10 minutes whilst the staff investigated the issue. After a 20 minute wait we were checked-in though the staff did not seem particularly sympathetic or apologetic for the long delay. This level of service was prevalent throught the hotel. Housekeeping requests almost always had to be followed up twice before any action was ever taken, the hotel staff rarely smiled and in general left an impression of being somewhat unfriendly. The rooms were also not particularly well cleaned on a daily basis, and checkout was also painfully slow with a single staff member processing checkouts at 1.30pm in the afternoon.
On the positive side, the breakfast at the hotel was extremely good with a wide selection catering for a variety of tastes. The location was also good, within a short walk to Bukit Bintang and a few mins by car to the KLCC/Twin Towers area.
We stayed in a deluxe room on the 4th floor. The room was spacious with two double beds but the decor looked a little dated. The bathroom was large and very impressive, with a separate frosted glass door for the toilet and separate large shower and bath.
Despite the shortcomings with regard to service, the hotel still provided good value for money.

We stayed there 3 nights. The hotel was amazing, very beautiful and clean rooms, good breakfast. The service was exellent.
One negative thing was the expensive WIFI internet connection that is nowadays commonly provided free of charge in other 4 or 5 start hotels.
