Beautiful hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights. Room was large and spacious and well furnished. We thought the pool was rather small for a 5star hotel. The breakfast buffet although extensive was not as tasty as expected and rather surprisingly the menu was pretty much the same every day.

The hotel looks beautiful from the outside and the lobby and common areas are very impressive. The location is excellent. Away from the crowds but still just 5 minutes walk away from Pavilion shopping mall and Bukit Bintang. The meals are expensive and can set you back quite a bit.

Stayed here for three nights while visiting KL. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The check in was very welcoming and staff were very helpful.

The room itself was great. Just a stands room but had a super king bed, and was very opulently decorated and furnished.

Bathroom had a separate bath and shower area which was nice, and again was extremely large. The shower has two attachments - a powerful rain shower and a standard head Attachment which was ideal for my wife to wash her hair.

We didn't eat in the hteksocannot comment on the food quality. What we saw coming out looked nice though.

The fitness centre and pool Are great - the outdoor jacuzzi is a nice touch. There are plenty of sun loungers and The pool is quite large. The fitness centre is quite small and I would say lacks some equipment, but if you're only staying anew nights, it is more than ample.

The concierge and door staff were extremely friendly and helpful and were quite happy to give advice on avoiding tourists scams etc.

One tip - the laundry is very expensive, but about 5mins away on the next street (Jln there is a laundry whicjh will cost about Rms15 per kilo.

Definitely will return if we come back to KL. oh and the view of the petronas twin towers is lovely too. Especially at night!

Room Tip: Although we didn't, apparently if you ask foran upgrade, you will usually get one. No need to wo...

Good points

Great location- views of towers ( 15min walk)

Good rooftop pool

Great rooms , nice touches ie morning newspaper

Insane breakfast choice (buffet) - go for breakfast included option.

Room for improvement

The food was expensive and very bland - in fact the one meal at the hotel cost more than all other meals in KL combined.

Stayed at the Royale Chulan for 3 nights, the rooms were really large with modern bathrooms. Some aspects of the room need updating (my room could definitely have done with new carpet) but overall they were really comfortable - bed was good. However, I think we went to this hotel high expectations which meant there were a few let downs. For example, the pool restaurant was closed when we arrived in the afternoon even though it was supposed to be open (closed early due to no guests I suppose) and the jacuzzi was just some unimpressive jets on the side of a small pool; our rooms were supposed to have a view of the petronas towers but due to a massive awning on the 5th floor you could only see a small section of 1 tower; the breakfast buffet was a little disappointing from a western perspective (I'm usually happy with Asian breakfast but I was all geared up a western breaky!); lastly, check in took over 20mins for some reason...
The location was pretty central and we could walk easily to Bukit Bintang and KLCC but the hotel itself was in a quiet street on it's own. Next time I'd stay more centrally in one or the other and train/taxi to the other as we ended up catching public transport a lot anyway.

Room Tip: Make sure you request to be on a non-smoking level in your reservation and get a room looking outwar...

Me and my wife stayed at the Royale Chalun for 4 nights
Wow what a place! Superb and impressive lobby, our room (standard) was incredible, like a smaller version of a presidential suite from a movie.

Great pool and fitness centre, some days we just didnt want to leave the hotel complex!

We ate almost all our meals at the downstairs restaurant (where the buffet is) but al a carte because the prices were very reasonable and the food always excellent.

The staff particularly in the restaurant were incredibly nice.

I can't fault the place, possibly the best hotel we've ever visited.

We have stayed previously at the Royal Chulan & enjoyed or stay. This time however I noticed the standard has dropped slightly. We booked through Agoda & got a great deal so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with the fact that we could not book anything to our room, no drinks by the pool, breakfast or massages it was very disappointing. I also noticed that the cleanliness of the room & hallways was lacking & in need of a good clean. I am sorry to say we won't be back
