“Great Hotel”
Reviewed September 19, 2011

Great hotel really 5 star. I stayed for 2 days, checked very early ( 6am) and they did not charge me extra for that. Room was huge and very clean. Waking distance to Jalan Bukit Bintang and shopping centre. I tried restaurant - very good maube expensive but it was worth it to try. I willl recommend that hotel so far my faviorite hotel in town. I stayed in Swiss Garden hotel and when I compare Royale Chulan it was worth to pay extra 20 dolars for Royale hotel.
Nice swiming pool, very clean and big

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at The Royale Chulan. The breakfast buffet is excellent, as are the other restaurants in the hotel. The location is great also, very near the city centre. The room was spacious with a balcony, but only the ones at the rear have balconies. The room itself was luxurious, especially the bathroom. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to you, great service, food, rooms and location.

Room Tip: Balconies at the rear over looking the pool.

to me just another 4 star hotel, nice deco, but still not up to standard 5 star like mandarin, shang ri la or westin, need to work hard. Food wise so damn lousy esp breakfast. aargghhhh u should start ur day with a great b'fast but ur chef seem didn't check the quality of breakfast.
hope u can wake up ur chef.

Stayed for 1 night in July 2011. The check in was fast, the room was huge and clean. Had a walk through wardrobe, the bed was big and comfortable, bathroom was spotless and the breakfast was excellent with huge and delicious choices!
It's about 5 minutes walk to Jalan Bukit Bintang and the Pavillion shopping centre.

We stayed here for 4 nights at the start of our holiday (finishing off with 4 nights in the Shangri La). We booked this hotel becuase of the great reviews it has been getting and to be honest not much to complain about. However, this is not a 5 star hotel!

Its a very good 4 star hotel, it lacks that 5 star feel about it.... and although its great value, has a good location etc, I wished I had stayed at the Shangri La instead.

This is a big property and it felt empty... the room was big, great bathroom access to the pool which was good, but I just can't get excited about this hotel.

Would I stay again, yes if I was on more of a budget... but I may be inclined to try some other hotels in the same price range that have good reviews to. This hotel is a safe bet.

Check-in was very businesslike and if we hadnt have stayed later at another hotel in malaysia (which was far friendlier) i might have put that down to cultural. Room needed minor maintenance to fix balcony door and safe and the crew did fix same within the hour so very efficient.

Short walk out the back to Pavillion (you get traffic lights that way so the cars mostly stop when red) or about 15 mins to twin towers.

Breakfast was ok but not a great selection of fresh fruit. Staff were very attentive in restaurant and the consierge was very friendly as well when we were there towards end of ramadan. they had large banquets to celebrate and seemed to be well attended but we ate out both nights.

Didnt go to pool or gym but lobby was nice and spacious with comfortable chairs near door to await transport. We walked around and did see the monorail which was about 10 mins walk away near Bukit Bintang shopping strip.
