Me and the friend I was travelling with started our tour of South East Asia at the Reggae Guest House 2 in Kuala Lumpar and compared to the hostels we stayed at later down the line this hostel is certainly top quality.
The hostel is kept immaculately clean throughout the day to the point that whenever i finshed with a glass and placed it on the common room table a staff member came to take the glass and washed it up immediately. The rooms were hooverd frequently too.
The bathrooms were western style with proper showers (no hose or bucket with water job!) and slider door seperating the toilet.
The only slight downer and I say slight downer becasue im not a fussy traveller at all was the size of the dorm room. It was quite small not leaving hardly any space to get changed inside along with the bdeds not being the biggest. The door room we stayed in slept 6 people (over 3 bunk beds) but it was fairly cheap at 20 RM a night if I remember correctly. They do have provate rooms available anyhow if you do want more space and want to be a bit more cozy.
The location is very close to one of the KL skyline stops which pretty much goes anywhere in the city or links with other transport options to get you about. Also Reggae Guest House 2 is just a minute walk awaty from its big brother hostel Reggae Guest House 1 which has a busy bar and nightlife scene so if you dont want to get woken up or disturbed by loud music this is certainly the better option in my opinion.
Reggae Guest House 2 was definetly a hostel that allowed me to settle into my travels nicely and a place that I would certainly reccomend and go back to if i were in KL, not to mention they have free tea and coffee throughout the day, free breakfast (consisting of toast and butter and jam) and 2 computers offering free internet and wifi.
