“Perfect Malaysian gift”
Reviewed January 30, 2012

Silk parios make wonderful gifts. Expensive but beautiful and so Malaysian. Easier to pack and lighter to carry than pewter.

“Great demonstrations of freehand batik painting”
Reviewed October 16, 2011

This was a stop on our day tour of KL and well worth it. We got to see a batik artist freehand waxing a design straight out of his head onto a length of silk. Then we got to see another artist colouring in a design and merging colours with fabric ink. The gallery and shop have some great work on display, but most was a little rich for my blood. We didn't end up doing their batik painting classes, we went instead to the Komplex Kraf on Jalan Conlay. In retrospect, the Jadi Batek Gallery classes might have been cooler (the Komplex Kraff is not air conditioned).

“Interesting to see.”
Reviewed August 4, 2011

An interesting stop as part of our tour. We were able to see how the designs are made into the various fabrics. They also demonstrated how the many different patterns are created in sarongs and other clothing, using a stamp-like contraption. Much to buy there, such as different types of men's and women's clothing, as well as jewelery.
