there is so much to see and so many things to buy. Stalls all look the same after a while and they sell similar stuff so walk up and down and then find the cheapest price.

This is no 5 star place to eat. Be prepared for surprises, both pleasant and unpleasant.

The popular stalls are scattered within a 100m radius and only the locals will know where they are. The more popular ones are:
1. Old madras lane - situated near the wet market, the "yeong tau foo" stall is the best in town. Food is prepared at the stall and long queues are a frequent sight.
Opposite this stall, are the famous curry laksa stalls. The one at the corner is the better one.
Dont forget the cendol and ais kacang stall nearby.
2. centre of chinatown, at the junction inside chinatown - best chee cheong fun, porridge and wanton mee. Have been around for decades. The koon kee wanton mee is the best in town.

Be prepared to sweat it out if you are keen on this chinatown food trail. Stall hopping would be most interesting. You would need a strong stomach.

Not impressive to an Asian. Hawkers stalls are ok but nothing great about it. Can visit along with a visit to Central Market, which is a better place to shop.

We had Chicken Claypot set for 2. It came with spicy ( very spicy) stingray ,prawns, long beans & ladies finger cooked in foil over a charcoal fire. ( RM60)
2 fresh coconuts ( RM10)

Very nice food would recommend it to any one! Some of it looks a bit different but all the more reason to try it, I loved everything I bought!
