“Considered to be the best at Masjid India area”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

This hotel is not just a hotel but a residential apartment too and there is no distinction between the two as each level the rooms are mixed. You can have an apartment beside a hotel room. Due to that the lift lobby and corridor seems like a normal apartment. No feeling of a hotel at all except for the hotel reception and lobby. We stayed at deluxe room with a family of 2 adults and 3 children.

Location
This hotel is right in the middle of the Masjid India shopping vicinity. Thus it is very convenient as our intention of getting the hotel is to have easy access to the shopping vicinity. Food is no problem as you can find anywhere near the hotel with the nearest one just beside the hotel on the left hand side.

Room
Though the corridor and lift lobby doesn’t feel like a hotel, the room does feel like one. I would rate the room a 3 star. TV is 32 inch LCD TV with decent cable channels including movies channels. There is a nice red sofa for 2 with is quite comfortable that you can sleep on it.
Bathroom has a bathtub together with the shower.

Facilities
The gym and swimming pool are not on the same level. However you can overlook the swimming pool while in the gym. Pool is just a simple lap pool and small children pool. One complain is that the floor is not slip-proof. I nearly slipped when walking to the toilet.

The lift is super slow. One time I waited like 10 mins just to get a lift available.

Service
Service is good and very helpful when we asked for directions from the hotel. Probably the reception staff need to smile more.

Food
Buffet breakfast was decent with sufficient spread. Not much fruit choice. But considered good for the amount I am paying for.

Overall, we like the hotel only for the hotel room and nothing else. The other facilities are not up to mark. Nevertheless having said that, we will return if we want to shop in the area again and need a near hotel.

Visited this summer with friends and we really enjoyed our stay over there! We stayed in standard double bedrooms. Even though the rooms were quite small, it had all the required facilities and was manageable for 2 people. We had complimentary breakfast coupons for our rooms and the food was good overall..

My third stay here for family year end shopping, as always the doorman greeted me with my name, feel so homely, upon check in they also knew our name although I see some new staff. Given a room 2801 mostly glass with great view of Dataran Merdeka which is a historical field. Clear view of KL city in the morning and could see the sun set in the evening. Room was clean average amenities, AC was cold, bathroom with rain shower hot water. Breakfast buffet is satisfactory with local and western choice. Every Saturday night there is a big night market behind which will spoil your choice with local food anyway without the night market there is still lot of street food behind. 3 LRT route stations is all at walking distance and public transport just at the front of hotel. Few shopping malls nearby too. Overall is a good choice of stay with friendly and help full staffs.

Room Tip: Request room on upper floor overlooking city 2801/2801

The place looks nice from the outside but there's a different story about the inside.

Dirty walls, very poor sound isolation and a jail-like cell window did not make it for a nice experience.

Check out the picture I posted and you will see that there is a 1 inch gap between the front door of the room and the floor.

For that price, stay somewhere else.

The tour agency was the one who booked the hotel for my family and relatives - a stay in KL for 3 days and 2 nights - and so far, it was not a bad experience at least for my family and myself. The room that we wanted - one big bed and one smaller one for a family of three was given to us. Usually, most hotels would require an extra amount of money for an additional family member but the amount of money we paid for the room was actually lower than a family of two. The air-conditioner was not too cold as well and the housekeeping was excellent.

We reached the hotel at 10+pm and we did not have any dinner so we called for room service. Even though it took a long while and a second call to check in on our order, it finally did come about an hour later. The F&B staff apologized profusely for the lateness and was very accommodating. The lateness was eventually forgiven because the food was so delicious. We ordered a fried kuay teow, kampong nasi goreng, mee mamak, satay and 2 glasses of orange juices. The orange juice was fresh and the food came in hot.

And of course, this only meant that the breakfast would be wonderful as well and it was. There were variations of east and west and I recommend the omelette. It was delicious.

One of the few issues I had was that the bathroom did not have any sliding doors. The water splashed out of the bathtub and the floor was easily wet so we had to be careful when we stepped out of the bathtub. The iron was also not working. Luckily for us, we ironed our clothes at home before we packed our bags so our clothes were not wrinkly but it would be good if the iron was working. There was also no free Wi-Fi. When queried on this, we had to pay RM10 per hour and we could only access the internet at the swimming pool and the lobby. It would be nice if it's free as most hotels nowadays have free Wi-Fi given to their guests. In this day and age of social media, it would be a really good business strategy as well for the hotel. People like to take photos and this would make it easier for people to take beautiful pictures of the hotel and share it instantly with their friends and family back home. It would also be good for business travelers who need internet to check on emails and do their work. Even though this was a family leisure trip, I was in need of an internet access to check on my work emails. But I decided to forgo the checking of emails till I got back home.

Despite of the few issues which weren't big in my opinion, with the exception of the Wi-Fi, the hotel was a good place to stay in and very near to Masjid India, one of the tourist attractions in KL. And when I say "near", I really meant "very very near". It is so near that it was less than 5 minutes walk. All we had to do was turn right around and voila! we were at Masjid India. Masjid India was located behind the hotel. At night, I could look down from my room on the 26th floor and saw the lights at Masjid India and all the crowd of people there.

I'd recommend a stay in the hotel if you want something cheap with nice room and good food and service.

Its is a decent hotel in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The Staff is very cooperative. Room is small but good enough with the AC & everything working well but the bathroom did not have any latches which pose a problem when travelling with family (solo no problem). Also one change required would be to have a live vegetarian counter during breakfast for Veggie people like me.

Attended a seminar here today and was really happy with the good service of the front desk staff, the bell staff and the banquet staff. Truly good hospitality as the service is always on hand. The environment is quite pleasing and clean. We had lunch at the coffeehouse at ground floor and the food served was excellent.

Only downside is the lift to the conference room, had to wait quite a while to go to the 7th floor. The internet wifi is not given free of charge though.

Overall, this is a good place for meeting and meals.
