Small restaurant with great atmosphere to get away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. Good food, friendly service. Prices ok. Try the fish head curry.

“Original KL”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

We had a family dinner at the Old China Cafe over CNY. Great atmosphere and setting but average food and service. The good food dishes included the tofu and top hat starters (kids enjoyed) and the bill was very reasonable too. A great pit stop for before or after soaking up the atmosphere of China Town's bustling street market.

“China Town KL Must Do!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013

One of my favourite spots in KL and much frequented at lunch time when studying at ATC a college nearby.
Bit like stepping back in time to the shop house as it probably looked like in the 1920's. Great atmosphere, some grand old pictures & 'canned' Chinese music and ceiling fans add to the overall picture.
Can get crowded but this visit no problem & nice & quiet.
Menu representative of some of the best of Nyonya dishes, portions could be construed as being on the small side but when I bring visitors in from overseas I order three or four dishes with some coconut rice (quirky as it is blue but tasty!) Good value and not expensive, Fish Head soup at 40 Ringgit is probably the most expensive & most dishes come in at 15 to 20 RM.
This visit very good sizzling beef, Chinese fried rice & beef rendang....excellent.
Very handy for Petaling Street & a must try after all your shopping in the nearby market....

“A trip back in time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

Have lived in KL for a while and cant believe we only just found this place. After the obligatory chinatown trip with visitors, its a great place to eat and finish off an interesting busy and noisy evening. The food was good although be warned the portions are quite small and hungry boys needed extra portions. Curry prawn laksa was excellent. Beef rendang was a bit disappointing as the meat was tough.

“Heritage + food = Awesome”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

I ended up at this restaurant, drawn by the old world charm, It is not situated in a popular part of town, at least for the locals. The service was great and the Nyonya food,,, super awesome, The only thing blue about the place is the rice..which is not a bad thing. Lighting is soft, for some reason even when the restaurant was packed, the restaurant wasn't noisy. The decor took me back to the time when I loved history in school. Hope this restaurant stays the same. The world may evolve outside, but here food needs to be savoured in the quiet heritage ambience.
