“The rooms do smell a little. :(”
Reviewed November 29, 2013 via mobile

Nice Inn. Friendly and helpful. We arrived very early in the morning and they facilitated us in checking in early. This was so nice and we really appreciated it.
The rooms are basic and have private bathrooms which is always a plus. Buuuuut, as much as I hate to say it, the rooms do smell a little. We stayed here twice, in different rooms. Both smelled pretty bad. But it's bearable if you're not there much and are only staying for a couple of nights. The location is perfect.

This is my second time here in D'Oriental Hotel. I arrived early morning from Hat Yai, checking time was 2:00 but I explained and they accommodate me immediately. Next day I inquired about superior room and they gave me room 502, which is very nice overlooking Petaling street with large window opens up to see street scene. It very well located near Pasar Sani LRT train station and very near to Pudu bus station for traveling.
I like to thank Benjamin Low, Joan Chong, and Mat Sani for all their help and support. Staff was friendly. I did not ate breakfast, so I can' t comment. In China town many eateries are open and it's cheap...... On my next visit, I will call and reserve room with them. Excellent customer service. Bravo......

Room Tip: Ask for room 502 or 302.

the rooms are clean and functional, although the climatisation is not on the top ... breakfast is very correct. Contrary to popular belief, no sound is coming from the street with its night market. Ok for friends or solo.

Stayed here for two nights while in Kuala Lumpur. The room absolutely stinks and from what I gather after checking TA after (unfortunately) most people felt the same. You don't feet used to it either! Felt so depressed when I saw what we had landed with and just wanted to leave straight away! Wifi wouldn't work for ages, old tv seemed like it was gonna blow up and did I mention the stench! So badly wanted to check out after one night but stayed for two as it was handier than packing up and looking for somewhere else. Also based in Chinatown which is a cool little location but absolutely filthy so was also worried about vermon that could make its way into hotel. Located near train station so it's so handy to get into CBD and see the sights. The guy that owns it was v helpful other than that staff were young and inexperienced. Wouldn't recommend this hotel or stay here again based on the smell alone.

This hotel is located in the middle of China town so good, but can get super busy at night, close to the train and bus stop so can get anywhere also near the shopping centre. The room were good, quiet and comfortable. I dunno what breakfast is like tho as went out for breakfast.

I've stayed in this hotel a couple of times in one of the family rooms because I enjoy the space. Some of the basic rooms are basic in extreme but if you ask to see your room first you will be fine. It's a great location and the staff are friendly and helpful

Room Tip: Ask to see your room before you pay.

D'Oriental is in Petaling Street so you just have to walk out the front door to be in the Chinatown markets. There is a lot of places close by to choose from when you want something to eat and convenience stores as well. It's an easy walk to the LRT to get to Sentral. Breakfast is good and when we had a 5am start they let us have tea, coffee and toast before going to the airport. The staff are very nice and their English is good. They have a lift so there's no lugging bags up stairs. It's a good place to stay.
