“Gone down hill”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

Some years ago this used to be a bustling fun place to go at happy hour for drinks followed by good food. Now the place is dark and dingy with less than motivated staff. Started at happy hour for old times sake but aborted the meal part of the process and went round the corner to "La Bodega". The wine in La Bodega was cheaper for a bottle than the 2+1 free glass offer at the George & Dragon. The wine was also much better and served at the correct temperature. We stayed for an excellent tapas meal and vowed to only return to the George & Dragon if the management changes and brings it back to the standard of 2010.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

We regularly enjoyed a drink and a pie or sausages and mash here a couple of years ago. Sadly it has gone way downhill. Yes, dark, dingy, smoky, bad service. And when our drinks eventually arrived they were wrong. Gave up and went to WIP luckily, what a contrast. Avoid - far better options at BSC. At least we didn't see any rats!

“Beer, Sport, Food, but Dark & Dingy”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Cold beer, plenty of decent western sport on multiple TV's and a decent menu, with a nice pork knuckle and a few other "piggy" dishes. However it is a little too dark and dingy for my liking, and having read other reviews, I shudder to think what was lurking in those dark corners!

But the killer for me was the service - a few times I have been there for lunch and had customers outnumbered by staff. Yet it still took up to 10 minutes to get someone's attention or get them off the phone so we could get service. That is damn annoying!

If you are at BSC and want a quiet beer, it's not a bad choice, and the balcony helps. However I would be far more likely to go to the two other places on the same corner, namely La Bodega or WIP, both of which are excellent, but just lack a bit for live sport.

“Poor imitation of a real English pub”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

If you want to find a fairly authentic English pub, stay away from this place. However, if you just want a place to enjoy a few beers with friends or even alone, you'll be pretty satisfied.

“Was infested with rats and service is bad. And they were still in operations knowing there was a rat problem!!”
Reviewed February 22, 2012

1. Saw a rat. Told the waiter, he said there was a rat problem, he can't do anything about it. No sorry, just a bad attitude.

2. Exterminator was there during lunch time. Management should close their retaurant and get rid of the rats.

3. Disappointed that they were in operation with a rat problem which they knew about. I wider if they sanitized everything! Highly doubt it.

4. Very smelly dingy carpet. But expats seem to love the place cause it's a bar and they show all the major sports matches.

5.the pie is ok but didn't like that the pastry was oily and in edible.

6. It's a dingy gross pub that serves beer, if u want a place to watch sports that serves alcohol, better just go to souled out.
