Description: Bijan opened its doors in September 2003 to offer a unique dining experience to discerning palates. The Bijan experience is modern in presentation yet wholesome in flavour. Traditional Malay cuisine is taken out of hawker stalls and buffet lines, and served against a lush backdrop. Modern in its surroundings with distinctive Asian accents, Bijan is warm, yet chic; intimate yet spacious. At Bijan restaurant, we are innovating ways of enjoying Malay food, introducing accompanying wine to enhance flavours and ways of preparing local delicacies in a fine balance of old and new. Our dishes are a mix of recipes handed down over the generations and innovations of the real thing, to produce forgotten favourites and delicious new flavours and textures.Located a mere stone throw’s away from KLCC and Bukit Bintang, Bijan is the ultimate destination for fine Malay cuisine. It is an oasis where you can unwind with a cool glass of wine while the food remains deliciously and unmistakably Malay. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks on the terrace while sampling our delicate canapés.Bijan restaurant won Best Malay Restaurant in 2004, just a year after we opened. We can also be found in Malaysia Tatler’s Top 100 Restaurants, The Lonely Planet Guide to Malaysia, The Miele Guide to just name a few.

We thought we would experience both ends of the scale whilst on holiday by doing a walking tour and visiting a top end Malay restaurant. We decided on Bijan due to the great reviews and it did not disappoint. We started with the mixed platter which consisted of 4 delicious starters with the prawns been the standout. For mains my wife had the mango salad and I had the lamb loin which was perfectly cooked and absolutely fantastic one of those dishes that you don't want to end. To finish we had the pandan pudding and the palm sugar sponge cake both sweet and again excellent. The service was just as excellent as the food and the ambience great. I can't understand why it isn't rated higher on trip advisor.

Fantastic meal for two, really authentic malay cooking and menu as well as excellent service. Just off the main road for KL's best restaurants and close to several bars for a drink after.

Lovely setting with a great outdoor area. The restaurant is located in a nice area, not far from all the touristy cafes and bars. I believe there are also more tourists here than locals, but the food seemed very authentic and reasonably priced to us.

The atmosphere of restaurants in KL is generally not as relaxed as what you're used to as a Western tourist. That's why we really appreciated a place like this, which allowed us to unwind for a few hours and enjoy a tasty meal with a nice bottle of wine.

In terms of food, we shared the satay as a starter which was very delicious. For main we felt adventurous and ordered shrimp in durian sauce, even though the waiter recommended to order something else. It was very tasty, we didn't regret our decision! We also preferred it to the lamb dish, which we found a little bit chewy. We shared the chocolate durian cake for dessert, and to be honest, we should have just stopped after having one dish with durian in it.
