Located just a few miles southeast of Albemarle on a quiet little country stretch called Stony Gap Road, is one of the best (if not the best) old school fish camps in the state. I don't often rate restaurants, but this is a gem! Open Thursday evenings through Sunday evenings and Sunday lunch, this place is always packed tight. The all-u-can-eat buffet is loaded with fresh Flounder and Catfish with fried popcorn shrimp, fries or wedges, hush puppies and all the trimmings. Not to mention the home cooked chicken, beefsteak, dumplings, beans, corn you name it also included at the buffet feeding trough. Along with a complete salad bar, desserts and an Ice cream station that pumps out both Chocolate and Vanilla and swirl soft-serve. You can also order from the vast menu if you prefer something different? Jay's has been around for as long as I can remember at this very location and shows no sign of slowing down, if you like to eat, this is the place to do it! very affordable (the buffet is currently eleven bucs per person) free refills and very friendly staff. Bring a crowd and tie on the feed bag, you will love it!

The choices of food off the bar are numerous. Most is good and greasy but I find the hush puppies to be very salty.

At $11/person for All You Can Eat was a value. They did not accept credit cards, which was surprising. The food was plentiful and obviously a crowd favorite based on the early packed dining. The food quality was ok.

First of all they do not take plastic. Cash or checks only.
We visited on a Sunday, and they were offering a buffet style dinner.
Offered was tasteless broiled fish, fried thin fish fillets. Baked chicken, and popcorn shrimp which was the favorite at our table. They also offered many sides. Corn, mash potatoes, gravy, broccoli casseroles, green beans, and fresh salad fixings. For desert they offered pudding, pies apple, and cherry. Theirs cookies and ice cream.
There is not any Sugar Free deserts. Which is quite disappointing because there are alot of diabetics in this area.
For the pricei would go elsewhere so we could have leftovers.
