Nice clean hotel with a fantastic lobby and foyer, the in room amenities were very good, the breakfast was excellent with a large choice of Japanese or Western style food , make sure you see the large tomato sauce dispenser, it's ridiculously big. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the port side as you will overlook Nagasaki Port

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during our stay in Nagasaki, which cost about USD$650. This did not include breakfast.

We caught the Shinkansen from Hiroshima to Hakata, then a local train to Nagasaki as there are no bullet trains in this region.
From the Nagasaki main train station, you must get out of the station and to the Nagasaki emi-Mae street cable car which will take you to a stop right outside the hotel. Or, you may choose to walk which will take around 10-15 minutes.

The lobby and foyer area are
Meticulous and very grand in the design. The rooms are clean, very big and spacious, with nice beds, chairs and table. The room was on the 8th floor and we had a nice view of Nagasaki.
There is a fridge which kept our beverages nice and cold for those hot humid days in Nagasaki.
Other reviews state the hotel was old and past it's time; I have to disagree with this. Best Western hotel has a reputation for being the best in Nagasaki and everything in our room was clean and in new condition.

The bed is a generous large King bed, comfy with nice comfy pillows too!
The room has air con however this is not very strong and we were quite hot on one nights.
The bathroom is clean and modern with a toilet and shower.
There is a separate marble top vanity for brushing teeth, make up etc which was a nice change from the other hotels we stayed at in Japan.
Daily room service occurred with all shower items replaced.

There was wifi available in the room.
We went out for breakfast and dinner so unsure what it's like here.

Staff are very kind and will do their best to ensure you have a comfortable stay.

There is a Family mart convenience store right next door to the hotel, which stocks chocolate, pastries, sandwiches, cold drinks, and also packaged microwave meals.

There is only a professional dry cleaning laundering service at the hotel, which is quite expensive. There is a coin operated laundromat in the area and staff are very helpful in directing you to its whereabouts.

As for location, this hotel is somewhat away from the main are of Nagasaki, however the main city suburb is a close 5-10 minute tram ride away. In saying this though, Nagasaki is a small city and is nothing like Tokyo, Kyoto, or Osaka!
It's quiet at night with not many people out and about.

We saw all of the main attractions (Bomb museum, peace park etc), which are all accessible via the easy to use tram ("cable car") service that operates throughout the city. It has a flat fee of ¥120 per journey, as far or as short as you want.

To conclude, we wanted to stay somewhere quite nice and luxurious for the last leg of our Japan trip and this hotel did the job perfectly.

Location. Very good with about 10 minutes easy walk one way to the main station, 10 minutes the other way to a shopping centre with restaurants and a very good supermarket. There is a small convenience shop in the hotel as well. The tram stop is outside the hotel
Staff. Very helpful and thoughtful, good enough English to understand and help us where needed.
Facilities. The coffee shop has some of the best iced chocolate drink we have had! Also some good cakes &c. The restaurant was a bit too expensive for us but looked good.
The bedroom was a good size and very comfortable though, as usual, the curtains didn't block out the early morning light. Eye masks were needed. No laundry for guests which is a pity.
Environment. If you want to help the environment, you can leave a card saying don't change the sheets or towels today. Big tip – if you do this they give you a 1,000 yen credit to be spent in the hotel. Go for the coffee shop and the iced chocolate!
Will we stay there again. Yes, definitely.

The hotel may be a bit dated, and could do with a revamp, BUT, the staff were absolutely fantastic !!! We ate in the Japanese restaurant one nite and had fantastic food and a good laugh with one of the friendly staff.

hotel very centrally located. Around the corner from the highway bus terminal, less than 2 blocks from the Nagasaki train station, commuter bus stop right in front of the hotel, and between 2 street car stops. The breakfast spread is quite impressive. The western selection is limited to scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, but when in Japan skip the western breakfast.

Room Tip: go early for breakfast to get a table by the window. The view of the harbor is a treat.

This, on 5 minutes walking distance, close to the Shinkanzen train station, located hotel is your perfect location to serve as a base for your sight-seeing trips in Nagasaki. The hotel lounge is beautifully decorated and has a very efficient and friendly staff which try to make your hotel life as comfortable as possible. The hotel restaurant has a very interesting menu and is located on the top floor which gives you at night a spectacular view on the Nagasaki bay area. The hotel room which we had on the executive level floor was comfortable and the beds were long enough to keep our feet inside which is in Japan for a 6 feet long travel most of the time a challenge. The breakfast restaurant was most of the time very crowded although we never experienced out of stock situations. Also in this restaurant the views on the Nagasaki Bay area are great. On ground floor the hotel has also a coffee & thee bar where you can enjoy great coffee, tea and cake. Wifi is present in the hotel and in the room and is working good we had no issues with uploading and downloading of files. Overall a nice hotel which offers value for money

Room Tip: try to get a room on the 11th floor which is the exec level

I say this because the bus from the airport stops directly outside the hotel - it's about a 45 minute trip from the airport. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the 'rope way' (cable car) that takes you up to the top of the mountain which has a (claimed) one of the top 3 night views in the world! Good thing to do the first night you're there - have dinner up there too. Staff at this hotel were lovely. The breakfast was very good and well worth the money (get a room rate including brekky). Yes the hotel is a bit 'old' but that is reflected in the price. Nice little coffee/cake shop in the lobby and direct access to a convenience store next door. Oh yes... a couple of free beers and drinks in the mini bar - a nice touch.

Room Tip: 11th floor is the 'executive' floor - with access to a 'lounge' - but this is NOT wo...
