What a great surprise to visit the Glover Garden. It had great views with beautiful gardens and homes from previous century. It is best to take the elevators up to the top and walk down.

This is a formal gardens and collection of Western style buildings. We went early in the morning and the garden was nearly deserted. A pleasure to wander around and very handy to the cruise ship terminal (easy to walk there). We particularly enjoyed feeding the koi near the top of the garden! There is a moving sidewalk/elevator system to reach the garden but we enjoyed walking there through the quiet back streets of Nagasaki. From there it is a short but intense walk (lots of stairs) to a viewing platform at the top of Mt. Nabekanmuri Park. This was also lovely and fairly deserted.

Do visit Glover Garden. I was lucky enough to be there in "cherry blossom" time so it was very beautiful. However, I think it would be well worth the visit at any time of the year. Take your time to wander through out the gardens and houses situated there. Also great views to be had over Nagasaki Harbour.

There is a nice street leading up to Glover house with shops selling local wares. The house itself is OK. The area is only a 5 minute walk from the boat dock to visit ' James Bond island'.

This Glover guy was really cool! I was happy to learn about him and the areas history at this garden. The views and houses are also beautiful.
