Excellent location in center of the City right by a tram stop. We also stayed there in 2007 when it was the Holiday Inn. Well worth the cost.
Large rooms for Japan with easy walking to restaurants, shopping and the nightlife area. Staff was very helpful. The very good buffet breakfast is mostly Japanese so do not expect eggs over easy with bacon.
The air con in our room was fairly loud but we did not need it with the windows open. Before settling in to your room, you may want to turn on the air con to see if it is too loud so you can ask to change rooms if necessary.
You can buy a one-day tram pass at the hotel. Trams are an excellent way of getting around Nagasaki.
An American owned stand up bar - Kendall’s on Motoshikui near the Shianbashi tram stop by the hotel - with mostly a Japanese clientele was great fun. Just look for the large American flag hanging on the outside. Also fun is County Road, a county and western bar with a welcoming staff, just down the street from the tram stop on Maruyama-machi.More
