our group of 14 people stayed in this hotel for 8 nights. we booked online. a few days before, we had to make some reservation adjustments, and they were very accommodating and helpful over the phone. we took the KATE airport limo bus from kansai airport to OCAT station, and from there, it was a 15-minute walk to the hotel.

room: the only downside was the space. it was quite a challenge to pack/unpack two big suitcases and 2 carry-ons in the tiny area without placing them on the bed. otherwise, it was ok. it had a fridge, a tv with dual language settings, a hair dryer, a coffee/tea set and a trouser press. the bathroom had a tub and the usual toiletries. thw whole room was very clean.

lobby: the reception people were so polite and quite proficient in english. they had english/japanese maps of the vicinity on hand. there were vending machines for drinks, a microwave, a hot/cold water dispenser and an ice machine. near the restrooms was a small laundry room for guest use; separate charge for washer and dryer. beside it was a tall uv closet with nightgowns for guests. the lobby also doubled as the breakfast room, with enough seating for about 20 people. breakfast fare included freshly baked bread, salad, sausages or eggs or spaghetti, coffee and tea.

location: the hotel was a 5-minute walk to the nearest station (sennichimae/yotsubashi), a stone's throw from family mart (convenience store), and about 10 minutes from maxvalu (24-hour supermarket). across the street was a branch of the tsurumaru restaurant chain, a great place for cheap but excellent food.

*if you're walking down motomachi, all you will see is a white and blue sign saying HOTEL next to some kanji characters. i printed the hotel name in japanese prior to our trip for reference. the bright blue sign on the roof is also reflected on the buildings around it, so it's hard to miss.
*leave your key with the reception staff if you want your room cleaned

Location: good, it's on namba, close by to shinbashi street and not too far from dotonbori, even though both are accessible with train (only 1 station away), it's pretty fun to walk the street.

There's Yasaka Shrine on the back of the hotel, which worth checking out.

A lot of convenience store and vending machine nearby. There are also vending machine on the lobby.

Staff: helpful but not fluent in English. Ask for area map which will help a lot. You can store your luggage in the reception before checking in time. They also will give you one set of toilletries (i don't know if this also apply to male guest) from 3 different set they have.

Room: small but it's enough for me. If you have big suitcases, i think you can put them under the bed. Towels, shampoo and soap are provided. Bed robe are available on the lobby, also coin laundry. Hair dryer also provided. TV is flat screen.

It's easy to locate, just take exit 5 from Namba subway station and just go down the road. You can't miss the big blue sign.

The elevator kinda small and slow though, fortunately it was never crowded when I was there.

For the newly-arrived, Toyoko Inn Osaka Nanba is conveniently located for reasonably quick access from Kansai. This is especially for those who arrive late at night and want to reach a hotel quick before the trains stop running at midnight. Airport taxis are usually more expensive, and even more so after the witching hour.

This hotel is more for the quick on-the-go travelers/executives who are not looking for frills, as it has easy access to the Namba and Namba-Nankai rail stations. Room sizes are small (although normal by Japanese standards), clean with un-interrupted hot water & in-room wifi.

Vending machines are available at ground floor for sleeping robes, drinks and snacks. Surprisingly a spartan breakfast (buns, salad, coffee/tea) is included.

One down side - only 1 small lift serves this 12-storey hotel, if you have heavy luggage be prepared to tot it down the stairs, especially during the rush to check out on time.

Would have expected better for the price paid.

Room tip: Select rooms away from the lift.

Though it looks a little tired on the outside, if you're on a budget and want easy access to transport/stations and all the food that Osaka has to offer - then this is for you. All the Toyoko Inns are the same room-wise so you can expect small, functional, very clean rooms for sleeping and a base to explore. 5-10 mins walk to all the food action by foot, and 15-20 mins to America town.

It's a very nice and super clean business hotel, close to Osaka Nanba station. The hotel serve breakfast (croissant, salad and some other little things).
The room is very small (well...its Japan) but it's more than enough for the three of us (me, my wife and our 3 year old son), as we are there just for sleeping :)
