We booked this hotel based on the good rating on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. As it was our first night in Japan and just passing through Osaka, we wanted to be close to a little nightlife. This place was fantastic - very trendy looking, good value and little more than a block away from all the action in Dotomburi. The staff were so polite and helpful, and we would go back again.

We stayed at Cross for a few nighst surrounding the ACDC Black Ice concert at Osaka Dome. Great show !!!! Great hotel. Stayed in the 18k, king room, very nice,

Only 1 English TV channel, CNN :(. 10+ hi-def Japanese channels, very cool pictures but boring content.

I do have1 real complaint. The pillows are small little bean bags. They didn't feel comfortable at all - but when I woke up you didn't have a sore neck...? Japanese technology? Maybe. Anyway, I would still prefer 2-3 feather pillows.

If you have a chance, stay at Cross, it's got it going on.

Also, turn right out of the hotel, 30 m up on the right is the Bearded Papa cream puff mini-shop, those things are amazing. I inhaled 2 in about 3 milli-seconds. Dreamy, creamy good ! ! !

Loved this hotel, we booked it at a great internet rate, wished we could have stayed a third night but they were fully booked so we ended up staying at a cruddy love hotel (another story!)

It is definitely a small room for Western standards but the layout and design works well for the compactness of the space. I've stayed in more cramped apartments in HK. The washroom is fantastic, loved the gizmos and quite spacious shower area. Nice soaps and shampoos.

Favourite find/amenity: a Febreeze-like spray that was provided in the room. There's smoking in all establishments in Japan, and we're just not used to coming home smelling like smoke all over, this spray was a god-send. We ended up using almost the whole bottle to freshen our clothes! We obviously laundered our clothes later, but its very convenient for the pieces you can't wash right away. And we bought two bottles at a convenience store after we went to Kyoto/Hiroshima! I highly recommend travellers to purchase this, and thank you Cross Hotel for providing such a great simple amenity.

Location is superb as all previous reviews have stated.

Thing I liked least: the lobby space is small and not very obvious.

This is a different neighborhood than I've stayed in before, but we were only in Osaka for two nights, and wanted to enjoy a bit of the lights of the Dotonbori/Shin Saibashi (sp?) neighborhood. We enjoyed the room and the bath both. There were two twin-size beds rater than a king, but that was fine. The room and bath were both perfectly clean. The bath is a little more in the Japanese style than in some of the more Western style hotels. (We were the only Western guests I saw during our stay.) It was one of those single-unit baths (off of the sink/toilet area). There was a tub, and it seemed that if you weren't using the tub, the best approach was to sit on a low stool provided, and use the hand shower. There was some english-language TV. We had breakfast in the hotel breakfast room, which had a reasonably good Western breakfast as well as a Japanese breakfast. (We're very adventurous with lunch and dinner, but prefer something closer to our native breakfast.) The coffee was (as usual) not so good, but there are coffee shops nearby.
The lobby is trendy, but tiny, and there is nowhere to sit if you're waiting there. The halls are dark, with low ceilings, and that feels a bit oppressive, but once you're in the room, that is not the case. Of course, the neighborhood has quite a bit to offer. We had some fantastic, and reasonably priced, meals. Given the area, we were concerned that the hotel could have noisy guests, but we didn't encounter any noise at all.

I stayed at this hotel with my family for the New Years. The room size is good when compared with other hotels in Japan, considering it is in a central location. The room is clean, and i loved the washroom which size is adequate even for 2 persons to squeeze in. The hotel is just a couple minutes walk from the subway, and for a couple minutes walk, you can find a variety of restaurant or entertainment zone.

I would like to make special thanks to the hotel. This hotel is fully booked on the day we check-out, the staff try their very best to accomodate our late check out request as our family member was sick.

Past experience with the cramped mini sized hotel rooms in Japan has led me to believe that this one should be no difference whatsoever. But surprise, surprise, though the room is still not spacious, it's got everything organized in such a way that even for a guy like me, 185cm tall and 100kg heavy, feel rather comfy staying in the room.
Many other reviews has mentioned the decor etc so I won't repeat here but comment that it's rather nice.
Oh, almost forgot to mention that the location is excellent. Right next to the shopping central in tha area.
I'd stay there next time in Osaka. Definitely.

The Cross looks rather ordinary from the outside and the groundlevel reception seems a bit cramped and uniinspired, but a quick elevator ride to the rooms brings one into a level of cool calmness, a bit stark, a bit dark, but nonetheless serene.

My room was great--the bed just the way in like it, just firm enough. The room was immaculately clean. And the bathroom--just great. A nice deep tub in a spacious shower room. The toilet had a control panel with about 10 different function buttons, the house amenities such as soap, etc. were fine. I did not watch tv, instead listened to cd's on my laptop. The complimentary internet connection was fine.

The morning breakfast buffet was adequate-- featuring both Japanese and western foods.

The desk staff was not particularly knowledgeable about shopping, restaurants or art museums even if they were friendly and enthusiastic.

The location of the Cross is perfect. Just north of the southern center of the city, not too far from the old kabuki area, and on Osaka's chicest shopping boulevard, it is easy to get to and not too far from a subway line. One block over is the fabulous covered shopping street that is lined with shops for abou 2 miles and usually jam packed with a young and trend crowd. Restaurants, boutiques, fash food, bowling, pachinko, clothes, clothes and more clothes beckon with a rainbow of neon.

The price was right as well as everything else.
