We took the one-bedroom option to give us a bit more space. Everything is utilitarian - the doors and fittings are made of metal, so the corridors look a bit like an institution (i.e., a prison!). I was generally quite happy but my wife found the fluorescent lighting very hard on her eyes. So, it's clean and extremely good value on the discount online booking sites.
If you don't speak Japanese, shopping can be a bit of a trial in the one nearby supermarket with fresh produce. Plenty of convenience stores with prepared food. We mainly cooked for ourselves, and asked for and got from the staff more pots and equipment.
A minor grizzle is that the rooms have no working tops beyond the table and the small sink bench. One is continually looking for places to set down your book, your mug etc. To be fair, there is loads of cupboard and closet storage, but not in the living areas.More
