Location - About 150 mtrs from exit 4 on the Tanimachi-4-Chrome station. Walk right down the pavement, you would pass 7/11 (on the other side of the road) at the first junction, and at the second junction, turn right. The hotel is the second building. Plenty of eating places. Lots of 7/11 type of stores ( open even on the weekends ).

Japan Rail Pass - For those of you who want to stay at Osaka and do daily sorties to other cities. Use the JR Pass and take the Osaka JR Loop line from Morinomiya to Osaka / Shin Osaka. You need not ever use the metro. Yes, it is a good 20 minute walk, ( much of it through the lovely garden of the Osaka Castle grounds ). The area is safe even after dark.

Hotel - Is a good clean place, certainly value for money spent. The reception desk is efficient and everyone spoke English and were respectful. The corridors leading to the apartments are a wee bit tacky. The apartment is neat and air-conditioned. The kitchenette is stocked with a gas stove, electric kettle, stove grill and refrigerator, with a good collection of utensils and cutlery. Certainly was fine for us. The sheets were clean. Towels were a bit worn out and needed to be taken down to the reception for an exchange. Pillows were hard and deserve a change. The upkeep of the apartment is with you ( vacuum and emptying the garbage ), as housekeeping is not part of the deal ( we stayed for 7 days ). A laundromat is available in the reception. The place and area is absolutely safe.

I lived at this hotel for 2 months when working in Osaka in 2010 (however, the earliest date I could choose below was in 2012), when it was still called Weekly Mansion at Otamae. Admittedly the "2 bedroom apartment" I stayed in was much the same size as our living room at home, at that time was rather run down, and was authentic japanese business style (ie, different to European), but I had most things I needed and those I didn't I bought at the 100 yen shop or department store. However, after the recent renovations I expect that the rooms are now in a much better condition. In fact, many of the other residents there were Japanese business men/women. What really made my stay there memorable and very satisfying was the helpfulness, friendliness and general attitude of the staff - they were willing to help with any request, and there was always someone who could speak reasonable English. Another large advantage when living in Osaka rather than just staying there was that here you look after yourself according to your own time schedule, rather than having to conform to a hotel's schedule. All this made the need to change your own towels and sheets (as often as you liked) and sweep your own floor occasionally simply a bagatelle! And it is quite rightly only a short walk to the nearest metro station. I strongly recommend this establishment for a good reasonably priced stay and a bit of real Japan.

Thank you very much for your feedback. It's very kind of you that you leave feedback even you stayed with us almost 3 years ago. We are glad to hear that you had comfortable stay with us for 2 months. Now we have finished renovation, and it's more like hotel compare to before, but room layout has not changed much (we still have kitchen of course!) At this point this is very suitable accommodation for who are seeking place to long term stay. We are more than happy if you have another chance to come back to our newly hotel. And also experience Japanese real (business like) life. Thank you again for your stay and time.

This is a serviced apartment and surprisingly spacious by Japanese standard. Very nice, clean & comfortable. I stayed with my brother in a Twin-share studio room and there is a kitchenette where you can prepare very simple meals, with microwave also provided. There is also a vacuum cleaner which you can use to clean the floor, if you stay there for many days.

The only two downsides: 1) Since it's a serviced apartment, the reception is not available 24 hours a day. If you have non-urgent enquiries, better make these during their office hours. 2) A little too far from the Tanimachi 4-chrome metro station (15 minutes walk) & it's not JR operated. So if you need to catch a JR train, you'll need to interchange at the closest Umeda station.

Would highly recommend this apartment for budget conscious travellers, families (where they can cook) and experienced travellers to Osaka

Thank you very much for staying with us. We are happy to hear that you liked our room. Since this February our business hour has changed 8am to 10pm, so now it's 2 hours longer than before. We do not open 24H; however, we have night stuff out of this time to help you. And also unfortunately it seems you took wrong way to get to Tanimachi 4 chome station.... It's only 5 mins walk from here. Maybe our explanation was not good enough. Sorry about that.
Thank you again for your stay and feedback. Please visit us again if you have another chance to come to Osaka.

We stayed in a three bedroom apartment that had a strong cigarette smell throughout the whole apartment which was not what we expected. The staff did provide us with deodorisers though the smell still lingered around. It would have been nice if there were rooms that were non-smoking. The apartment as a whole is pretty run down; though when we stayed here renovations were still going on to refurbish every room in the whole place.

There was a kitchen inside the apartment as well though we preferred not to use it as it to cook as it looked like it wasn't cleaned very well. We also did not prefer to use the aircon as the filters were not cleaned out properly. The room was also very dusty which were probably from the filters. Bedding, however, was relatively clean and reasonably comfortable. As the whole place was being renovated when we were here, hopefully after it has finished that all the rooms will look more modern and inviting. Also, hopefully there should be some rooms that are non-smoking so more travelers who prefer this can stay here more comfortably.

On a positive note, the place is located in a good area as it does have a few convenience stores around, a bakery, a supermarket and a few restaurants. It is also close to a train station that connects to major areas around Osaka. Though there is a fire station nearby so expect to hear sirens throughout the night.

Thank you very much for your stay. We are terribly sorry about renovation work during your stay. We apologize that we bothered all guests with noise, smell of paint or inconvenient lift. Moreover we could not change your room even you suffer from smoking smell because we had shortage of rooms at that time. We are terribly sorry about it. Now we have finished renovation for inside of building and we have non-smoking room as well.
We will try to meet guest’s needs and thank you very much for your feedback and time.

This is not a hotel. It is a a self service apartment, a bit like an urban camping site, you need to exchange towels and fetch toilet paper rolls at the reception yourself and hoover your room every now and then if you stay for longer than just a couple of nights. Lots of space for money paid compared to usual hotel, located in a quiet area somewhat between Umeda and Namba. Room has a kitchenette where you can prepare your breakfast.
Our room was newly refurbished and the only thing we missed was more hooks for clothes hangers. Bathroom cubicle was somewhat dated, but served its purpose well enough. Hot water dashboard can be an issue for those who can not read Japanese (it keeps turning to low temperatures after a while), check with reception during opening hours as there are people who speak very good English and should be able to explain how to make it work properly. In terms of comfort for yen paid it is a good value.

Thank you very much for staying with us. We are sorry for the trouble about hot water system. Our explanation was not enough for non-Japanese guests. Thank you very much for your advice. Yes, our hotel is more like self-service apartment, and we offer big discount for guests who would stay with weekly contract or monthly contract. This is one of big differences from the other hotels in Osaka. If you need to have more hangers or so, extras are available at reception. Thank you again for your stay and feedback. Wish we can see you again if you have another chance to come back to Osaka.
