There's something charming this place. It seems to fit perfectly in place with the bizarre, 1980s feel of the area.
Upon entering the hotel, you will be greeted enthusiastically by the middle-aged receptionist, who by the way speaks excellent English. The place is old but very clean. The room we had is simple and spacious, complete with a/c and tv. Towels and toothbrush are also provided. There is no attached shower/toilet and the common shower and bath areas are on the ground floor. I used the bath and I was the only one so it was like having a private bath! Body soap, shampoo and hair dryers are provided. Very handy!
The hotel is a little old but if you could look beyond that, it is very cheap and totally worth the money for an accomodation in Japan. On top of that, I totally love the area. It's near the shin-imamiya station, from which you can catch a direct train to the airport. The area is also on the red subway line, with the main shopping and entertainment districts only a few stops away. There are four convenience shops, a 100yen shop, and baggage-storage shops within a stone's throw away. Very convenient, perfect for backpackers on a limited budget.
