A friend recommended we stay at this hotel because of the price and location and it was great for those things. We booked on the hotel website and got a semi-double room for 7800 yen which was fine for a couple wanting to save money. The rooms were very small, but had good amenities and were clean.
It's an easy walk from JR Namba and the subway Namba station and is located right in the heart of Dotonbori, which I think is the best place to stay in Osaka because of the nightlife and restaurants.

I would definatly recommend this hotel to people on a budget wanting to be in the heart of Osaka nightlife.

If you are planning to visit Osaka for a day or two, then this hotel is essential. It was 7800 Yen a night, which isn't bad by Japan standards. Furthermore, it is right in the heart of all the action that Osaka has. You can have a great time just by walking a few blocks away.

The rooms are extremely small and the bathroom is smaller. But, it is kept clean, they give you toiletries to use, and the staff is very helpful.

This hotel is in a GREAT location, only minutes away from Namba station, and right in the middle of great Osaka nightlife - in Dotonbori, and near Shinsaibashi. There are so many great restaurants within walking distance, you'll never be lacking for something to eat.

As mentioned in the previous review, they were very strict on check-in time at 3pm, so we left our baggage and spent a couple of hours at Osaka Castle.

The room itself was tiny but clean. They provide a lot of amenities - tea, toothbrushes & toothpaste, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, body sponges, etc. They have free internet use in the room if you have a laptop, and 2 computers at reception for guests to use.

On thing that really put me off was that the bathroom smelled very bad, as it had mould in the corners and edges.

Overall, it was a good hotel for its location, services and cost, but I probably wouldn't stay there again due to the bathroom.

Great location within 5 to 10 minute walk from Namba subway station. The hotel is quite strict on the 3 pm check-in, we arrived at 11 am and killed time at the imperial palace. They offered to stow our baggage while we waited for check in.

The rooms are plain but clean and come with TV, air purifier, hot water pot and complimentary water. Pajamas and slippers are provided. The bed are relatively comfortable, I think more drinks would have made them very comfortable. Funny enough the beds come equipped with space age pillows, really just pillows made out of memory foam. Regular pillows would have been more comfortable, from my opinion.

The washroom is equipped with soap, shampoo and towels.

The location is great and if you're only in Osaka for one night, this is the place to stay. It's located right near a covered pedestrian shopping pathway. There are hundreds of great little restaurants to choose from. Also, Donki Hote, a shop similar to the 100 yen store has their flag ship 10 storey store here. Good place to get you japanese souvenirs.

It's located walking distance to Namba train station where you can take the airport express for about 3,200 yen. Make sure you have cash because they do not take credit card which is silly. We learned this the hard way, missed a train and almost missed the second one.

Tip, if you need cash go to the swiss hotel and talk them into exchanging money.

We stayed here two nights in March 2008. The Dotonbori Hotel is located in a great location, at the west end of a great shopping area with an exciting night life. Also just a short walk from Namba station. Those reasons make it a good place to stay.

The staff were friendly, and the buffet breakfast was decent, with lots of options (though not the highest *quality* of food around). There were options for both western and Japanese breakfasts.

The room itself was a little smelly and quite small. The in room bathroom is almost a joke for anyone over 5'8", but we got by. The view from our window was a brick wall 2 feet away.

Overall, a good value for what we paid and we would likely stay there again. I would recommend this for people just needing a convenient and friendly place to crash at the end of a day, but not for those who plan to spend any time whatsoever in their rooms.

Easy enough to find the hotel on the main Dotonbori stretch as it’s the only building in the area with four heads on the outside!

Check in was painless and the staff speak good English.
The room has to be paid for at check in. A standard double room is 12,000 Yen (cheaper rooms are available) This price included breakfast.

The room itself was very small but was extremely clean and came with everything you would need; free bottle of water in the fridge, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, alarm clock, a water boiler that doubled up as a humidifier, a yakata (Japanese pyjamas) and a hair dryer.
Interestingly the pillows were developed by NASA and did help provide a decent nights sleep. The air-conditioning was very welcome too!

Vending machines, microwaves and ice machines are available on most floors.
Any ladies staying at the hotel are given a 'Ladies Set' containing various lotions, cotton buds etc

Breakfast is in the form of an all you can eat bufet.
Lots available; burgers in a tomato based sauce, noodles, green salad, dumplings, bacon with broccoli, sausages, omlette, coffee, miso soup and rice

Check in from 3pm.
Check out 11am

The hotel has four big heads on columns at the front.
The faces are an Aisan, an African, an Arabian and an Occidental.

Apparently you are supposed to rub your face with the face of one of the heads to share their special powers. (Friendshop from the Asian, health from the African, savings from the Arabian or success from the Occidental)

I stayed here for three nights. If you want nightlife this is the place. On the main drag where it all happens. The rooms are in the back so it was not noisy. Super close to bars, restaurants, and shopping in trendy Shinsaibashi area. Central location for walking all around much of Osaka. A couple of blocks from the main bus station and in the other direction the Namba subway stop. The included breakfast buffet was the best I had in three cities in Japan. Extensive western and Japanese food selection.
