“good hotel”
Reviewed March 16, 2012

I spend 3 nights in March 2012.The staff is very helpful and speak english although still rough.
The room is rather small but is comfortable. Internet access on the room and wi-fi on the lobby provide you with full access to the world. Nice toilet with small bathtub but for me is alright.
The subway is very near and also close to Shinsaibashi so you can go and shop till you drop :)

Overall a mixture of comfortable and strategic place, now there is a good hotel.

I have stayed in this hotel for about 6 nights in Feb 2011. The lobby was very simple with 3 receptions and they are still using 'Key'. I mean they don't have card access system. You have to hand over the key to them when you go out and withdraw from them when you come back. There is free lan line (internet) in the room but the connectivity do get cut off sometimes. Room size was ok for me and during my stay, the toilet bulb blown off. I called the reception and within 5 mins, she is outside my room with the maintenance guy. They quickly get it fixed and apologize to me about the inconvenience. Their service was excellent . The hotel is about 20 mins walk from the Nankai station. You can also find a lot of foods and shopping near the hotel.

This hotel is very well run, with helpful staff who speak some English. The bedrooms are clean and well maintained and the bathrooms are small but adequate. What makes this hotel so good is the location in the centre of the action, very near the subway and plenty of restaurants, and yet it is in a quiet street just off the main road. The breakfast can be western or Japanese style and is very reasonable. The Italian restaurant in the hotel is good but pricey. This place is very good value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for non-smoking rooms on higher floors.

I really liked this hotel. I think after spending a few nights in various places on futons it was nice to get into a western bed. The room was an average size. On the headboard there was an alarm, air conditioning and radio system which was pretty cool.

The bathroom had a bath, shower, toilet and sink. And was a decent size.

There is a free computers and wi-fi... 5 of them. And it is free to use. There is a laundrette in the basement.

When it rained there were umbrellas at reception for us to use.

Location was excellent for the station. Plenty shopping nearby!!

Was there on a solo trip. Was lost on my first day. But once i located it, had very little trouble after that. Very close to the metro station. Very close to the shopping strip. Walking distance to Namba shopping area. There's a convenience store just diagonally across the hotel and a Tokyu-Hand store just in front at the main road. As this is a business hotel, minimal fuss from the hotel staff. Would love to stay here again on my next trip! :)

Room Tip: Rooms are quite small. I booked a semi double, was just fine for a single person.

Having read a few negative comments was a bit worried. However i need not have been.
Twin room was spacious, beds were fine (no problem sleeping) and room quiet.
Son had a semi-double, which was a bit small and room at front but that also was quiet. Fine for him but will have been a bit cramped if two sharing.
Air conditioning very efficient which was good as outside mid-30's and humid.
Reception staff had limited English but as son speaks Japanese not a problem. However i had problems when trying to make known what i wanted but they were very helpful and did best they could to realise what i required.
The area is very bulit up woth little greenery so nice to get onto underground to parks. Journey by train out to Kyoto and Nara easy.
A lot of eateries close by and all the shops you could want in the covered shopping areas all a short walk away.
The best part for me was day we spent in Nara which is compact and easy to walk around and see sights. The worst was at start of holiday with all the people and concrete around the hotel but that got better as time progressed.

Room Tip: If a couple i would go for a twin room, beds are as large as a semi double and you get one each! Al...
