“Good location, facilities, and price hotel, for pivoting around Kyoto and Osaka”
Reviewed May 30, 2010

This hotel is situated very near the ShinOsaka station. Only about 5 minutes (or less) walking distance from the main gate. ShinOsaka station is a very good pivoting point to explore Kyoto and Osaka area. Osaka station is only 5 minute by train, while Kyoto is only 15 minutes away by shinkansen. This is definitely a good option for us who used JR passes. And, we realized that we could have just stayed in ShinOsaka too if we would explore up to Hiroshima, since it is only 1.5 hours away by shinkansen; but we didn't. The station itself has lots of food stalls and some convenience stores. It's easy to find food.

We got a good offer by staying 2 nights in this hotel. The rate was only around Y5500 per night for a room for 2 persons. This was the cheapest among the hotels that we stayed in Japan. Yet, for this price, it really worth the money.

The room that we stayed has a semi-double bed , TV, radio, clock, table, chair, mirror, refrigerator, electric water kettle, air-cond, free wired internet (with cable provided) and attached bathroom. The room size is quite small and packed for 2 ppl. The bathroom size is also small, just fine for asian size, but not sure for western size people :D However, among the hotels that we stayed in Japan has small size bathroom. The toiletries were provided: soap, shampoo, toothbrush, razor, towels, yukatta, and slippers. They did housekeeping everyday. Everything in the room was clean and neat. One minus thing was no cupboard was provided. It was only hooks with some hangers.

The service was good. We were given complementary drinks upon check in, to be redeem in their in-house bar. We could store our luggage in the reception before check in (we arrived before their check in time) and upon check out, for free. The reception is in the second story of the building, that has 1 escalator. It's normally up-riding. Upon check out, the receptionist switched the escalator direction to down riding for us. Very helpful for us to bring our luggage.

I would recommend this hotel for those who would spend most of the time exploring the area around Osaka and Kyoto.

I can warmly recommend this hotel as it fulfills all the requirements one could have for a trip in the Kansai area. The most obvious advantage is the location as it is just steps away from Shin-Osaka station. From there you'll be able to travel directly to Kyoto (30 minutes), Kobe (30 minutes), Nara (45 minutes) and many more destinations. Shin-Osaka also offers direct access to the Midōsuji Line which will take you to all important locations within Osaka within a few minutes.
The hotel itself offers clean rooms, good beds and friendly staff. The overall interior is a bit aged but as you probably won't spend a lot of time in the room this isn't really a problem. The surrounding area of the hotel is dominated by office building but also offers a variety of Izakayas, Ramen places and convinience stores.
Good value for your money!

This is close to Shin-Osaka and so is very handy if you have an early/late train. Unfortunatly there isn't much around Shin-Osaka and if you want to see Osaka you need to take the Metro line.
Even by Japanese standards the bathroom was tiny, but the room was clean and the mattress acceptable, Good internet access (free). Buffet breakfast was OK with standard choices for a Japanese Business hotel.

There is probably better in Osaka but this is cheap and handy to the station. If you are spending a couple of days in Osaka I suggest you hunt them out.

Stayed here for one night in March 2010. We checked out early because the rooms are quite loud (lots of traffic noise, snoring neighbor) and the bathroom smelled. Things were clean in general, but the rooms are definitely old and tired and are in need of renovation. The breakfast is ok and included coffee, juice, rolls, jam, as well as Japanese breakfast items. The location, while across the street from the Shin-Osaka station, is fairly far removed from the sights in the city.

This is a tiny business hotel about a 3 minute walk from the exit of Shin-Osaka Station. The location can absolutely not be beat. We traveled in a group of 4 and stayed for 6 days in this hotel as a home point for our travels around Osaka and day trips out to Kyoto, Miyajima and Hiroshima before heading back to Tokyo for the rest of our trip.

The shinkansen arrives and departs from Shin-Osaka station, so all our day trips were quick and easy with the JR Pass. There's not much going on in the immediate area of the hotel but because you're so close to the station going anywhere at any time is a breeze (Namba and the Dotonbori district is maybe a 15 minute train ride away and Umeda and Den Den Town are even closer... and the Asahi Brewery in Suita is also close has a great tour btw.) Most days the hotel itself was very quiet, but it was also a wedding hotel - so the weekend was a little busier in the lobby and reception hall floors. We had no issues with noise from the street or station.

My husband and I shared a regular room with one bed and our friends (two single guys) shared a room with two twin beds. We are all between 5'9 and 6'1 of average weight - no issues feeling comfortable in the beds. Our rooms were about the same size - TINY - but not much smaller than other business hotel rooms in Tokyo or Paris. It was still comfortable and had all the amenities we needed - fridge, hot water boiler, full length mirror, desk, internet access, & phone. The bathroom was small, but clean - no large counter space, just a sink, toilet and shower with tub - they did provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower as well as toothbrush, toothpaste, and comb/brush.

The rooms are much older looking than the lobby downstairs which is nicely decorated. The furniture is a little worn, but we never felt like it was dirty. We checked in during the day and the front desk staff was very helpful with our luggage and seemed to be comfortable helping us out in English (although at first we had printed everything out and were mostly gesturing with limited Japanese words rather than assuming they could speak English.) The staff spoke less English in the evening, but was as helpful as can be. They helped us set up takuhaibin to our next hotels and stored our 6 (SIX!) pieces of luggage for us in their tiny holding hall while we were out before our room was ready. We very much appreciated the staff the entire time we stayed there and as long as their rates stay competitive, we'll definitely be going back in the future!

My friend and I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in Oct while on a trip to Osaka. The hotel is located within 5 mins' walk from the Shin-Osaka station, which was actually a pretty quiet area. The main shopping districts are located at Osaka/Umeda station area, or Shinsaibashi/Namba, so we had to commute daily to most places.

The room was generally spacious for a Japanese hotel room, as we had more than enough space for 2 of our luggages, and it was clean and well-maintained. Basic amenities were also provided, and a daily face mask and relaxant foot masks were also given, which I thought was a really nice touch! It also helps that the hotel staff speaks comprehensive English. Checkin is only after 2 or 3pm which is quite common for hotels, but we were pretty tired after arriving at 11am from an overnight flight from home, so we had to wander around for a few hours before we finally got settled into the room.

Although there is nothing much around the hotel as shopping district is a few stations away, there are still quite a number of F&B outlets near the hotel, away from the Shin-Osaka station area but in the opposite direction.
