Owner description: Space Station is a place where you can enjoy old and new video games while drinking in a bar setting. While the majority of video game bars in Japan have some kind of seating charge, Space Station is very proud to allow free entry. Customers pay only for the drinks. Space Station has the following game machines: Atari 2600, Famicom, N.E.S., Genesis, Super Famicom, Super Nintendo, Dreamcast, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Wii, and Wii U. Close to JR Namba station, as well as Namba subway station.* Owner's addendum: As Space Station climbs the TripAdvisor rankings thanks to the kind reviews of customers, new travelers are coming to Space Station with high expectations. I hope and believe that your expectations will be met when you visit but I have noticed that many patrons are surprised by the size of the bar. Keep in mind that Space Station is a small bar space where seating is limited with additional standing room at the bar counter. The bar is open every day from 7pm.

This place has everything you'd ever want in a bar- amazing atmosphere, cheap drinks (try the Dr Whiskey) and cool people. Even if you don't like video games that much you can still sit on a stool, chat to the bartenders and listen to some awesome music. It feels like being at a friend's house- everyone, both Japanese and foreigners are friendly and there is always someone to talk to. We love this place so much that we even got engaged here!!!

What makes this bar unique to any other bar is that besides the fact that you can come in for a drink alone or with friends, you could also pick up and play any of the retro gaming consoles (N64, NES, SNES, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Mega Drive) on display free of charge with a great selection of some of the most popular games. Current gen consoles are also available. They also have gaming inspired cocktails or shots. The staff is very friendly and the owner is willing to chat with anyone visiting the bar. Besides the japanese locals, a lot of foreigners visit the place too. The overall vibe is great, you can start up a conversation with anyone, next thing you know you will be playing video games together or planning the night ahead. I highly recommend this bar for anyone willing to try something different. I went in there by myself and in 10 minutes felt like at home chilling with my friends.
