We were the longest-staying guests of Hana Hostel and we enjoyed every moment of it.
The hostel is very clean, the staff can speak English and is always present and useful: they recommended to us what I think is the best Okonomiyaki restaurant EVER and when the sake-night was cancelled due to the host sickness, they showed us several places on the map where we could try good sake at reasonable prices.
The room was clean and provided with air conditioning: the room was quite cold when the air conditioner was off, but this is actually a problem of most of the Japanese buildings, freezing cold during winter, hot like hell during summer. We did not have a private toilet/bathroom, but this as well is quite common in Japanese hostels, so nothing to complain about. The toilet and bathroom, despite being communal, were always clean an shiny.
The location is perfect: a few steps away from the underground, a short walk from the shopping area and just 10 minutes walk from Dotombori and Namba.
The kitchen as well was clean and the fridge was not full of gone-off food.
It was a great experience and we actually regretted not to have booked the place for longer, but we definitely will next time!
Thank you for making our stay in Japan so wonderful and for making us feel at home every time we stepped into the front door.

Love this hostel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location is great - a couple of minutes' walk from the subway and in walking distance to the central area of Osaka - and the beds were comfortable. We had a twin room with Japanese style beds. Comfy pillows, nice thick bedding. Small but functional en suite bathroom and wifi in the room. The common room and kitchen is nice and friendly and we also used the luggage storage.

Would definitely return here.

Absolutely spot-on location, friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms and nice shared areas make this one of the best hostels I've stayed in.

We only had one night in Osaka so I was gutted to be missing their Friday night sake tasting event but there's lots going on in this hostel to make it an ideal place to meet people and get advice on things going on in Osaka. There's heaps of tourist info around the hostel as well.

I would absolutely recommend this and they also have other branches around Japan (not Tokyo though unfortunately).

I stayed 2 nights in osaka hana hostel.....on the 23rd march and on the 11th april
This hostel is very clean. The staff are very warm and nice people. They are very friendly and will help you guys out if you need to know anything about osaka

The facilities are great with complete kitchen tools to cook your meals and store meals in refrigerators. And they provide internet use for free and also provide pc to surf. They also got washing machines and dryer you can pay to use(its cheap)

The beds are big...its good for big and tall person like me. I love this hostel...
I'm gonna come again next time i'm in osaka...

Stayed here one night in December...fantastic staff and clean rooms! Stayed in a private double with the Japanese style mats, which were really comfortable. Great communal area downstairs complete with the floor level tables and free tea!
Location is prime, and the dotonburi area is no more than a ten minute walk away. It's nestled in the America-Mura area, which is a really hipster shopping area (not too many restaurants). Super easy to get to from the kansai airport (straight to namba station). Wifi was excellent and my only regret was not staying here longer.

By far, the BEST hostel I've stayed in. The entire building is spotless, the bathrooms and toilets are modern, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. There are also many convenience stores and restaurants very near to the hostel.

We were very fortunate to get the last few rooms during the peak spring season, even though we made our booking 4 months in advance.

The hostel is also perfectly located. It is only 2 minutes away from Shinsaibashi Station (just look for Nikko Hotel), and across the street is the famed Shinsaibashi-suji street with Louis Vuitton, Dior, Miu Miu etc. greeting you. Behind those boutiques are rows of shops selling just about everything (from burgers to H&M), and 15 minutes away is Dotonburi, another famed street with lots and lots of food and shopping.

A tip: Look for Exit #8 at the Shinsaibashi station, and enter Fashion Avenue/Nikko Hotel and use the escalators until you get to the ground floor and head out to the hostel, unless you want to haul your luggage up and down the stairs in the station.

The reception, however, is on the first floor without any escalators or lifts, so you still have to carry up your luggage via the stairs, but there is an elevator within the hostel itself.

I love the fact that the team provide maps with local attractions, shops and restaurants nearby. Saves a lot of time of walking around aimlessly looking for them. Will definitely stay here and other Hana Hostels when I visit Japan again.
