Prior to planning my trip to Osaka, Dotonbori was one of the few parts of Osaka I knew of. With that in mind, I had made it my first priority to visit while visiting and I was definitely not disappointed. It reminds me of Times Square, if Times Square had a river and great street food. The lights on all the buildings make it almost unreal, and of course there's the famous Glico sign, which has recently been updated to a new version. Anyone visiting Osaka must visit Dotonbori at least once.

Lots of local street food and resturants. Interesting place to visit and shop. Spent the whole evening there with my family enjoying the local culture.

Quick 5 minutes walk from JR namba station will get you to the infamous glico billboard (shame the lightbulbs are gone, heard they will install LED lights soon) and the entrance to shinsaibashi and streams of restaurants. definitely a must go place in osaka!
