Triple room was big for a Japanese hotel Separate Toilet, bath and sink provisions are good for 3 people since we were able to use these simultaneously.

What I did not like
1. Directions to hotel are not clear 2. Staff should know at least some basic English 3. smoking area is right in front of the elevator

Room and bath were clean , well equipated and convenient for our stay . Not far away from Namba Station and good connection with Osaka Airport .

Stayed 2 nights here with family.

First off, location wise, it's pretty good. It's very near Dotounbori street which has all the shops and restaurants. I was very excited to see the Glico man (cliche I know) and was glad to know it was just a couple of mins walk away. The hotel is closer to the Nanba area so if you really wanted to just wander the street and get lost, you can end up there just by walking. In case you don't feel like walking, there is a subway station nearby (maybe 5 min walk), Nipponbashi station. As a tip, this station does have an exit with an elevator, for those coming with luggage. Also, you need to find the exit (stairs only) that leads you to a Family Mart. Turn right and don't cross the street. Also, people don't seem to know this hotel. We got lost on our way there the first time and the locals who helped us did not know where it was.

Apart from the location, everything was ok. We arrived late but there was still someone there to assist us in checking in. Unfortunately the receptionist did not speak or understand English so we had a hard time trying to explain that we were expecting a delivery of our sim cards. Nonetheless we finally understood each other with the help of google translate and she delivered our sim cards to our room. The room was in Japanese style so slippers were provided for use in the room. We did not choose Japanese style beds so we had elevated beds. Room size is ok for a triple room. I love the Japanese style toilet. Wash basin, toilet and shower are all separated. Heater was working ok, they had a working hair dryer and refrigerator. There was also a water heater and some tea. The only thing I didn't really like is that people are allowed to smoke in an area right outside the elevator. The hallway kind of smelled like smoke because of that.

Oh and I never did get the wifi to work on my phone.

Overall, due to the price, can't really complain. Would recommend if you want to explore the Dotonbouri area and would want easy access to all that food.

Im now staying at Naniwa hotel for my 5 days trip in Osaka. Rooms are comfortable and clean. If you wish to experience the Japanesse style room, do try their quad sharing room with futon bed. Location wise is strategic to Dotounbori street n Nipombashi. Definitely satisfied with this hotel.

Stayed there from 26 - 28/1. It's just a 10 - 12 min walk from Nipponbashi, which is the closest station to the hotel. On the way to the hotel, across the road on your left, just before the canal, you'll pass an entrance to Dotonbouri street where you can feast on just about everything Osaka has to offer, including the infamous fugu.

Getting to the Shinsaibashi arcade isn't a prob as well If you don't mind the walk. Dotonbouri connects to the infamous shopping arcade.Just head north-west on foot from the hotel or take the sennichimae line (via nipponbashi) to namba station for the mido-suji line to shinsaibashi station.

Apart from the travelling convenience, there's nothing much to mention about the hotel. Rooms were clean. Staff were courteous, professional but reserved. O yeah...we booked a tatami room for three but ended with a room with 3 single beds. No complains for that. Plus, the rooms came with a separate toilet...convenient when there's more then 2 people sharing a small room.

Overall, I would say I had a little more then average experience staying at Hotel Naniwa for the budget we had and the duration we stayed. But as Average is the closest rating on tripadvisor.com, I'll have to go with that ;)

The whole impression of the hotel is that it is dirty. The location was ok though - on walking distance from the station and from shoping area.

The staff was ok, speaks good English. We stayed only one night

Service is just for an average room. with a toilet and a bathroom. Less than 5 minutes walking distance to hotspot and subway. But if getting back to Kansai airport by Nankai airport train, take a cab costs less than 800 yen rather going through the busy hotspots with baggage. WiFi connection is bad.
