A must do in Osaka. The park outside is great.
After crossing the bridge, we climbed the hill.
The castle itself is very nice. We learned a lot about japanese history

Osaka Castle was high on our list of places to visit during our trip to Osaka. The shops between the train station and the Castle Park were very convenient. The walk to the castle built up our anticipation culminated when we finally reached to top of the hill and the castle. I wish that there was more information on display explaining historic places and events associated with the castle. We highly recommend a visit to the Osaka Castle.

It is a picturesque castle. The ancient wooden construction without using any nails in the old days. You will need a good walking shoes and climb up and down on hundred of steps.

Osaka Castle is beautiful to behold especially amongst the autumn foliage. We took a lift to level 5 where we climbed the steps to top level 8 to view the city from the top of the castle. Thereafter we descended via the steps and viewed the museum collection floor by floor down to the ground level.

We had only 2 hours to spare before making our way to the airport as it was our last day in Japan. the castle grounds are huge and we only managed to cover 10% of it but most importantly, we got to see and explore Osaka Castle itself.

Highly recommended for a visit. Access is easy by train and a short walk.

Osaka castle park was nice during autumn.
Lots to enjoy and air was fresh.
Castle was ok. Lots of steps but offer a great view of the city.

The little one had more fun at the park than in the castle.

what a lovely place. we walked around the area, but did not end up going up to the top of the shrine. once because the day was very hot and the queue was extremely long. this was unfortunate but we had visited a number of shrines during our journey in japan.

Osaka Castle was absolutely gorgeous with all the gold trimmings on the outside. Spent a few hours at this sight. Very interesting history accompanies Osaka Castle. Parkland on site beautiful also. Great souvenir shop inside. Kimono photo shoots available inside also. Large building in park also has variety of shops including beautiful icecream. Really enjoyed my afternoon. Staff very friendly in all areas of site.

From Osaka proper, it's about a 15 minute taxi ride. The drop off area is quite a walk from the Osaka Castle proper but you get to see a lot of stalls along the way offering stuff from street food to small trinkets. Take the to watch street performers do magic and comedy. It is suggested that you go early to avoid the multitude of people flocking to the area.

I visited the Osaka castle but did not go inside. there is a fee to enter. From outside it looks very nice.

The castle itself is a beautiful reconstruction project, that has fantastic views from the top deck. However the museum itself is fairly average, with nothing particularly outstanding that justifies it as a must see. That being said the entrance fee is reasonable enough that either way you're getting something for your money. The castle grounds themselves are worth a walk around though.
