“Nice, but...”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

If you don't have the chance to see other castles in Japan you can go for Osaka's one. However, it's much better the view of the park and the castle from the outside, than the inside of the monument itself (that has just some interesting armors and antique letters) and the view from the top.

“Well worth the visit”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

Although a reconstructed castle Osaka Castle (大阪城, Ōsakajō) it was well worth the visit. The museum had some wonderful exhibit pieces and I couldn't resist buying a wondeful book on Samurai from the museum shop. The Observation deck *which can even be accessed by an elevator) also affords a brilliant view of the city which was well worth the entry price alone. The closest JR station to the Castle is Osakajokoen Station on the JR Loop Line. It's then an easy walk through Nishinomaru Garden to the Gokurakubashi Bridge. The Park also had an impressive cherry blossom when we visited.

“Helpful staff”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

Easy to get to from both JR and subway stations. A beautiful walk through the park to get there. It has an elevator for those who could not use the stairs, all you had to do was ask. The staff were so helpful.

“no soul”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

I was expecting something more original or traditional, but when entering the castle, it is a big big disappointment, it just like entering a modem museum, it spoil the soul of the castle...it is a waste

“wonderful castle in a beautiful park”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

the castle are inside a large beautiful park where you can relax and enjoy the river and the city of osaka from the top of the castle. A place for newlywed in having pre-wed session. even there's a man practice singing in the park. So much peagent bird which you can feed them using cracker or nut. beauty
