Osaka case is a must place to visit in osaka. The parks are so neatly h
Kept, and greens are beautiful. The park and castle us so huge , that you can actually spend the whole day, relax and have lunch there.
It is quite a walk from the mrt, so be prepared to walk, unless you want to rent a bicycle.

Sprawling garden surrounds the Osaka Castle, nice to walk around it. As for the castle, it serves as a museum and if one is interested in the history of shoguns and the armors used during ancient period, then this place is for you. There is also a nearby shop selling souvenir items and they allow you to wear kimono, though I did not try it. In my opinion, I find it so-so, probably because I came from Kyoto and Nara before coming to Osaka Castle. It pales in comparison against all the places I've been to in Kyoto and Nara

Enjoyed the walk from train station to Osaka Castle - Walked through the park to arrive at the entrance of the castle.

The building is a nice backdrop to have a picture taken.

Great history, and as with all Japanese historical artefacts, impeccably kept with good international English documentation. It is a very impressive old Castle, with two surrounding protective order moats. Very good if you enjoy trying to understand a particular culture through its history.

On a nice day, this is certainly a nice place to walk round the park. Look at the impressive walls and moats and wonder at the work that went in to build this place. To get to the base of the main tower and enter the tower, you need to pay your admission. Inside you get a good view from the all round balcony on the 8th floor, good photo opportunity. Inside, each floor has panels and TV's showing the history of the castle and the empors that lived in it. There is limited English available, other than a small explaination by the side of each display. Consists mainly of paintings, or copies of paintings done donkeys years ago and explainations on them. I tried to follow through them, but lost interest after a couple of floors. It may have been more interesting if you could speak Japanese and can follow the shows on the TVs, you would also have to be interested in Japanese history. There are a few sets of 16th Century armour, but other than these no other artifacts....just books, scrolls and paintings.
Don't take the kids, after the view from the top they will drive you potty.
There was a rentable headset that may have had more information about the panels - I didn't rent.
Lift available inside, but doesn't stop all floors going up. They want to take you to the top and let you walk down, it does stop for you going down.
You can leave your bags at lockers just outside the main tower - for a fee.
Airconditioning inadequate for the number of people inside making it very hot on a hot September day.
Visited Sunday 11am: Entrance Cost Y550, not overly crowded
I got to it buy getting off the Circle line train at Osakajokoen Station that has an exit into the park. A short walk across the park to get to the main tower.
