Where else can you see two whale sharks in one tank ! The ticket price is worth the experience to see the whale sharks and lots more of aquatic creatures ! A must do in Osaka !

“One of the best aquariums we have seen”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

We have been to a few aquariums but this one was extraordinary. It is designed to see animals above, in the deep in the water – seals and fish that live at the different depth. Two hours of walking through was a good time we had in Osaka. The best deal for Aquarium is to buy the ticket to it with one day subway ticket. You will have subway for free. When you arrive at Osaka jus go to information centre.

“Stunning aquarium - bring headphones!!”
Reviewed October 12, 2013 via mobile

The aquarium is really easy to reach on the subway, just head for Osaka-ko. On the whole the aquarium is stunning. It has a great layout, with a spiral design, meaning that you see different tanks from different angles as you descend. This works really well for the river otters, as you seen them from surface level, running, climbing on logs and diving into the water; then you see them from below the surface swimming around covered in tiny little bubbles. Lord they're cute.

The main tank is huge and absolutely breathtaking. It contains reef sharks (white and black tips), leopard sharks, hammerheads, rays, turtles and, the star attraction, 2 whale sharks. As keen scuba divers it was wonderful to finally see whale sharks cruising around - they really are magnificent fish.

The only downside was the fact there were, at least, 400 primary school children running and screaming around the aquarium. While they are beyond cute in their matching colour coded caps, they are incredibly noisy! Unfortunately this really detracted from the serene environment of the aquarium. There are a couple of quiet corners around the main tank lower level with benches which we managed to sneak off into, but you could still hear the excited screams and shouts.

So, my one big tip - bring some headphones!! With some lovely soothing tunes on I think this is a 5 star attraction. I personally recommend some Ludovico Einaudi ("Islands" album should do the job nicely).

“Good way to spent an afternoon.”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

Easily one of the best seaparks/aquariums i have ever seen.
On weekends it might be a little crowded but alone the deep sea sights are worth the trip. The price of 2300¥ per adult is actually not too high for what is there to be seen.

“Worth it”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Easy to navigate and probably one of the good sightseeing places to go for the whole family. Saw a lot of feedings of different ocean life including penguins and also has a touch tank.
