Really enjoying visiting Kaiyukan. You can touch the baby sharks and stingray. Lots of animals to see. You can watch dolphins being fed.

This Aquarium is very nice , it is themed around the Pacific Ocean , I rate it the third best in the World after the Oceanographic Aquarium Valenicia , Spain , and Underwater World Singapore , you spiral down huge tanks representing different environments of the Pacific Ocean , though I am surprised they ignored the Kelp forests of the California Coast .

Whale sharks - waoo ! For most people this your ownly chance to see real line whale sharks, so for that alone is worth the trip, but the place is huge with lots of other displays as well. There is an escalator that takes you to the top and then you slowly spiral down around the main tank. I went on a Sunday and got there about mid day - bad plan, the queue to get in was over 30-45 minutes and then at the start of the tanks there was one queue that filled the corridor and slowly shuffled forwards. When we got to the main tanks people spread out as there are many more viewing areas and even although the place was very full there was plenty of opportunity to get to the front of the displays. There is a good sized petting area, so you can get to touch some rays, small sharks and a few other fish and a cafe about 3/4 the way down. The walk insode is about 900m (marked on the floor), but you probably walk alot further as you zigzag between displays. I was a bit dissapointed with extra displays, they have lots of big tanks with 1000's of fish in, but I like the small tanks where you can get right up close to fish, and there were only a few of these.
Cost to get in Y$2300(adult) and you can combine it with big wheel for Y$2900 (Y100 off).
Take the Chuo line and get off at Osakako(C11), take exit 1 and follow everyone else down the road (10 minutes to harbour town with big wheel and Aquarium).

This place is very crowded when I visited during the weekdays, so weekend is probably a big no no to visit. Given that this is Japan, when it gets crowded it's really hard to see all the animals.

But they have the whale which is very grand and made me go "woooohhh", ha3

But other than that, this place is pretty normal, a good excursion if you have nothing to do anymore in osaka and it's quite good to bring little kids as well there.

The have the cutest area for some seals/walrus (the white colored ones)? And at the end of the journey, you could touch some manta and other fish for free.

Probably will take you around 1/2 - 1 hour to finish the place.

Penguins, Sharks, mirads of tiny coloured fishes of all shapes and sizes! Osaka aquarium has many lovely creatures of which to "ooh" and "ahh" over. Though for the larger animals it may seem as though they wish to be free and out in the oceans, the overall experience is a happy, fun and exciting place for all ages! When I came here they had a 'marching of the penguins' where the little guys waddled between the crowd on their own red carpet!

Overlooking the idea that Aquariums can be focus points for animal rights groups, this is a world-class aquarium with many interesting and awe-inspiring aquatic life. Also, though I only buy pricier items on rare occaisions, I really enjoyed the goodies they had in their souvenir shop. Definitely a must-see!
