This lovely hotel does not have a "walk in" facility, so i would recommend an initial taxi ride. We felt somewhat aggrieved as we easily found the building but the hotel was elusive. The staff are helpful and smiles abound. Public areas are grand and the rooms are spacious and very well appointed. We were on the 33rd level facing the Hankyu station and this afforded a spectacular expansive view. The location is excellent as Umeda is a comfortable walk through a maze of underground shops.

Stayed in Osaka for 4 nights, visiting friends. Booked this room on Expedia for under $200/night. The rate supposedly did not include breakfast but we were given breakfast coupons for the continental breakfast which was juice, coffee/tea, and toast/pastries, all in unlimited quantity, served in their lovely breakfast room. Our room on the 30th floor was newly decorated, spacious, with a wall-wide window with a spectacular view of the city. (The rooms are all on the 24th floor and above). The bathroom was gorgeous and spacious with a separate shower and tub, and loads of amenities. Comfortable king bed with luxury linens and even night shirts provided in the same luxury cotton. Service in the hotel was excellent (and no tipping in Japan).
Don't know why the rate was so low, as the hotel web site shows their rack rate starts at about $500. Location is great for transportation and shopping. There are several Hankyu hotels, the International is their top one. If you can get this hotel at a good rate, don't hesitate!

Visited Osaka for business. Client put us in the Hotel Hankyu International. Very nice except for cigarette smell in the room, but very comfortable beds, quiet rooms and good staff. They have a couple of exceptional restaurants in the hotel that are a must try. And the surrounding area is full of cool shops and nice places to walk. Breakfast is expensive so it is recommended that you visit the Starbucks just outside the hotel and just before you walk out the hotel there is a wonderful pastry shop where they serve freshly made bread and croissants.

Room Tip: Non Smoking rooms are on certain floors, you have to request them.

Walking distance to Osaka Station and lots of restaurants all around. Large Western-style rooms with luxurious (white marble) bathroom and great views. All staff are friendly, courteous and helpful ; their English is basic. The first room we were given smelled of cigarettes and the carpets were worn & horribly stained ; we refused and were allocated a better one. The hotel must have been the height of sophistication some 20 years ago, but is now due for renovations. Still good value for money.

Room Tip: Specify a non-smoking floor

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the train station standing quite tall above the northern end of Osaka. Most of the rooms are in the top of the tower block which is very clean and tidy. There was lots of staff in reception who were very keen to help with our luggage. Staff were polite and spoke good English. We spent an extra few pounds to upgrade to a deluxe double room and ended up with a very large room on the 29th floor. The room was exceptionally comfortable and modern, all mod cons and super quiet air con. The external wall was almost full glass looking across Osaka with fantastic views of the city. The bathroom had all the extras and tiled entirely in marble, it was bigger than some of the rooms we had in stayed in Japan!
There were quite a few restaurants and facilities in the area, a number of shopping centres and the large electronics store across the road. A nice treat! It is worth eating at some of the restaurants near the station as these are good value for money and have a wide range of choice. Will definately stay here again!

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for an upgrade and enjoy the amazing view of the city.

At less than $200 a night USD I found this hotel to be an excellent value for the level of service and amenities. The view of city and location are both wonderful. The front desk, despite a language barrier, were helpful and courteous. The only difficult experience we had was dealing with the concierge and dinner reservations. I brought a list of restaurants I thought would be enjoyable for us, but had a hard time explaining that these were locations we would like to dine at and could a reservation be acquired. Oh well it ended up working out as we just went to the restaurant district about a 1/4 mile away by taxi and jumped in a sushi spot which was fantastic. Neat city, nice place to stay while there. Convenient to train station.
