This review was long overdue as I wrote this a few months back but never had a chance to post it until now.

My wife and I visited Osaka back in October and stayed for 4 nights at the Hilton Osaka. Our experience was nothing short of fabulous.

The Hilton Osaka is conveniently located and is a short walk from the JR Osaka Station. Surrounding the hotel are delicious and inexpensive restaurant options (ramen noodles, takoyaki/okinomiyaki and sushi restaurants) as well as convenience stores (Family Mart) at every corner should you want to buy some bottled beverages or other snacks.

Upon arriving at the hotel (after a long flight and a shinkansen ride from Tokyo), we were promptly greeted by Azwin Ferdauz as we walked into the hotel. He smiled and when we asked, he offered restaurant suggestions and sightseeing options as well. He would even advise us on how best to get to/from each location.

When my wife got sick the 2nd day into our vacation, we went to concierge and asked if there was a doctor's clinic nearby. Ms. Morishita called several clinics and even went with us to the doctor's office to translate. Let me tell you, that was a huge relief to know that someone from the hotel cared enough about us to go with us. When we returned to the hotel after the doctor's visit, Azwin greeted us and asked how we were feeling; He did not forget to ask each time he saw us too.

When it was time for us to leave and head to Tokyo, Azwin helped us with our luggage, walked us out and bid us farewell. We had a wonderful experience staying at the Hilton Osaka. Each time we returned to the hotel after venturing out for the day, we were greeted with smiles and pleasant conversations - just like home. Needless to say, we were sad to leave Osaka.

I would recommend staying at the Hilton Osaka if you ever visit this city.

Great Hotel, great location.

Breakfast is awesome. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Love Hilton Hotels.

This place is down town and right in the heart of Osaka. Not far from Osaka station or the Hankyu railway.

Easy to get around and lots of shopping here.

I want to love the Osaka Hilton but can't quite. It's really the hotel that makes a case for 1/2 stars as I'd like to rate this hotel three and a half. The reason is the staff and services are quite good but are let down by the quality of the property especially the rooms. The location, while not especially scenic, next to the train station, is excellent, with lots of dining, drinking, shopping, opportunities. The public areas are agreeable and pleasant but a little small. Its a nice area to sit with lots of light and free public wifi. There's a coffee shop/cafe/bar in the lobby that will serve while you sit, but a small espresso will set you back more than twice the price of a Starbucks (or any Japanese equivalent) Venti. Rooms are very clean and good size for Tokyo but need renovating, they are rather spartan and the light fixtures look like they haven't been replaced for many years. There are no curtains or shears on the windows, only sliding japanese paper window shades, these add a bit of a cultural touch and allow some light in but are not very functional and completely obscure the view. Wifi in guest rooms was good quality but not inexpensive.Typical lack of English speaking stations on the television (see Lost In Translation.) Bathrooms were clean and decent size but also felt dated. The rooms aren't bad they just don't match the quality of the rest of the hotel or most Hilton's I've styled at. The fitness center is fairly well equipped but the space feels cramped, much too small for the amount of equipment, and has no wifi access. The breakfast buffet was good but not exceptional, again the staff was helpful but the selections could have been a little larger both Japanese and Western food items. On the positive side, to a person, the staff were helpful, knowledgable, friendly, and supportive. Overall I guess the external appearance, location, public spaces, staff, and Hilton reputation led me to believe the hotel would deliver more than it actually did.

Near the South gate of Osaka station, there is an underground pass that connects the building which was useful as it was raining on the day we arrived in Osaka. There are loads of shops nearby so you can never go hungry here.

The hotel caters to business people but it is a good location to use as a base. The room is typical Japanese size, and it is clean. We got a room that overlooks the station. The lift is a bit funny as it would not allow us to press the button to our floor during the ride up. However, when you stop at a floor, you have the ability to select your floor.

The staff are friendly and efficient. I had needed a band aid, and could not walk down to find a pharmacy. We called front desk to ask for one, and they were very fast in responding. They gave us several band aids. Also, they were very helpful when we asked for options to go to Kansai airport. We decided to take the airport bus which stops at the hotel on regular hours, but because we were leaving early, we had to catch the bus at Herbis building found across the street. One of he staff made sure we were heading in the right direction.

Good hotel, and I would stay here again.

The hotel Is beautiful! My girlfriend and I were welcomed by the staff! We were early for our check in so had our bags held at the front office while we explored parts of osaka with out friends via JR train station which is minutes away.. very convenient! Our room was magnificent. Our bed was comfy room was cold.. cleaned everyday.. loved our stay! Its too bad we weren't there for the cherry blossoms but overall the hotel was very pleasant. Walking distance from shopping districts food and a train ride to USJ.
