“Truly Imperial”
Reviewed March 30, 2012

Beautifully appointed rooms, everything and anything that you may need is taken of. Perfect location, exemplary service for the rest of the world hotels to emulate is what an experience of Imperial, Osaka is. A large variety of cuisine to choose from, one looks forward to returning to the hotel as soon as the work is over. Rooms are spacious and well appointed.

Room Tip: any room is good room at imperial, osaka.

Over 1 week at the end of March 2012.Really good hotel in terms of bedroom comfort. Beautiful bathroom and equipments (Internet etc..). Just a couple of negative points : Horrendus prices for the restaurants, over €6 for a beer in the minibar, over €4 for in room coffee, €21 to access the swimming pool...No international credit card terminal at reception (unlike any small shop or restaurant in Osaka) which had for effect to spend quite some time to get bank authorisation. Business center out of order so very difficult to print flight boarding passes before leaving. English langage is scarce not only with staff but also inexistent on all menus etc...2 channels only in english.

I had wonderful and cozy stay although just 2 nights alone. Their customer service is excellent, and complimentary upgraded to a spacious room like junior suit with great view as many guests reviewed. The only location is not very good though....

This hotel has top notch service and quality. Great for a business traveller or those that aren't budget conscious.
Rooms are an excellent size and beds are very comfortable. Lots of choice for breakfast as hotel has a buffet restaurant and 2 others in the hotel.

This hotel is easily within reach of the subway system and has a complimentary shuttle to/from Osaka station which is very efficient.

I stayed for one night only (business function), but still found this hotel experience remarkable. From the truly 'imperial' lobby to the very nicely furnished hotel rooms and the impeccable service: the Imperial Hotel Osaka lives up to it's grand name.

Hotel rooms can be quite small in Japan (even in luxury hotels), but the Imperial Hotel does not only offer very spacious rooms but also extremely good-sized bathrooms. The decor is somewhat more on the 'plush' side (it's the Imperial Hotel, right!), but the rooms do offer all necessary technical gizmos at top notch standard (flat screen tv/dvd system, broadband internet connection, room control panel on the night stands and high tech reading lights). The beds are comfortable and the rooms are very clean. Try to stay in a room with river view: if you are on a higher floor, the view on the river is simply breathtaking.

I also got to experience the lower lobby restaurant as well as in house catering services in one of the ball rooms overlooking the river. The food and service were impeccable. Due to an early flight out of Kansai airport, I had to order in room breakfast service (comes at a price!). The food came exactly the minute I had ordered it, and was of very high quality. Another plus is the friendliness of the staff (they go out of the way to explain the hotel room features to you, give recommendations for good restaurants and all are simply a delight to encounter. Imperial Hotel Osaka makes you feel welcome from check-in time to check-out.

The only slight downside is the location of the Imperial Hotel: it is quite far from the center of the city, and connections to the Kansai airport are a bit tricky (you need to take a taxi to the central Osaka bus terminal, then take an airport bus for reaching the airport, which took me around 90 minutes in total).

For a business stay, the Imperial Hotel is a delight to stay in and definitively one of the friendliest hotels I have encountered in Japan. If you like to stay in the middle of Osaka though, you might want to consider alternatives. If you don't mind taking your time with transportation and are looking for true luxury: then the Imperial Hotel should be your first choice in Osaka. Highly recommended!

Stayed in a Deluxe room. The hotel definitely ticks all the boxes for its Leading Hotels of the World affiliation: extra comfortable beds, beautiful bathroom, excellent staff. The Flying Tomato restaurant in the hotels has a very good breakfast buffet with delicious pastries, fruits and salads. There is a nice shopping center attached to the hotel, but the hotel is a bit far from the department stores and shops in Nanba and Shinsaibashi. The hotel provides a free to shuttle to the JR Osaka - Umeda station, which makes travelling in the city and sightseeing easier. Would definitely go back.
