This hotel is a beautiful piece of Osaka history. Located on the island of Nakanoshima which was a safe haven for International journalist after WW2. The rooms are Western style & large, the entrance lounge is lavishly decorated, the breakfast buffet is delicious, Leach Bar makes the best drinks in town & it's convenient! They run a bus to and from Osaka's main station about 4-5 times and hour, only a 10 minute ride.
I totally recommend this lovely a d stylish hotel.

Stayed in 2 semi double rooms with 2 young children in the West Wing for 4 nights. The only real positive was a regular shuttle bus to JR Osaka station, with train connections all over Kansai. When arriving in the hotel you feel like you have gone back 30 years in time. The decor was very 80s! This is not a child friendly hotel. There is a very serious feel about the hotel, with most of the clientele being older Japanese business men. Our check in experience was disappointing, with one of the two rooms having a very bady smoke odour, despite requesting non smoking rooms. The front desk managed to change the room very quickly though. The first night was extremely uncomfortable as the room was very hot and their was no air conditioning (only heating!). The front desk agreed to open a window but this wasn't ideal! The buffet breakfast was average with a wide selection but quality was poor with no fresh fruit selection.

We stayed for five nights using the hotel as a base for touring with our JR pass. I have nothing but praise for the hotel and it's staff.

We stayed in a Natural Comfort room which was spacious and to our eyes tastefully decorated. The bathroom was well equipped and the free wifi was much appreciated.

Breakfast was included in the deal. There is a choice of three venues, a cafe, a Japanese restaurant, or the one we used most often a buffet. Here there was a terrific choice of food. Western (sausage, bacon, eggs) Japanese, Fish, Fruit, cereal and so on. Eating before 8am we never had to queue.

the complementary shuttle to Osaka station (a 10 minute journey) was smooth and frequent, once again we never had to wait. The only problem was finding the right exit from Osaka station, look for Sakurabashi Gate.

Looking at the published price on the hotel website the cost of the room would have been prohibitive, but thanks to a good Internet deal we got the room for a fraction of the published price.

Room Tip: Some other reviewers have criticised the size / furnishing of the rooms, opt for Natural Comfort, yo...

Access to this huge, three tower hotel is by shuttle bus from Osaka station (not shin-Osaka). The usual efficient staff were there as you come to expect in Japan ( in Australia we could certainly learn a lot about hotel customer service from the Japanese). The room was a good size, clean, modern and in good condition. The view was terrific. Breakfast was included and was one of the best we had had in Japan. We also ate in the same resturant one evening and it was reasonably priced, with very well presented tasty food. With the shuttle bus there is good access to all of Osaka (and beyond such as Kyoto) via JR rail. The concierge was very helpful and knowledgeable in recommending small resurants to eat at as well as directions to specialist food shops in the area. A great place with a very reasonable cost and we would enjoy returning there.

Room Tip: The central tower (where we stayed on the 12th floor) has renovated rooms and it appeared that rooms...

Stayed here for four nights including breakfast for less than 300 dollars. The shuttle service is great, but if you plan on seeing the town, I strongly suggest walking.
Breakfast was great, served until 10:30, perfect for those late starters.

Overall, a great stay, will be returning again in the next week,

It is a hotel close to Kansai airport easily accessible by taxi or train (direct train is about 30 minutes). It is not in the center of Osaka rather it is in Sakai City but you can take the train to center of Osaka such as the shopping center Namba from the train station that is essentially connected to the hotel.
The rooms are functional and not too large or small but no wireless internet in the room so a Macbook Air notebook (cannot use wire internet) can only connect to wireless internet in the lobby. They provide a plastic slippers so you don't have to worry walking on the carpet barefoot. The TV channels are limited. No CNN, no BBC, no CNBC, so hard to connect back to the US and know what is happening back home especially the time difference and no internet in the room (I brought a MacBook Air).
There is a small to medium size shopping center closeby so it is good for business meeting and if you have time you can go do some souvenir shopping. KFC, french coffee shops, and a few Japanese restaurant so you will not go hungry. The restaurant in the hotel lobby (where breakfast is included in the rate) does not have a lot of choices of western/American entries. Enough to fill you in the morning but the choice of food is no way close to not a luxury breakfast from a 5 start hotel
I noticed Thai airline uses the hotel for its flight crew. It is cheaper that hotels in downtoen Osaka but if you are going to Osaka for sight seeing I recommend hotel closer to Osaka which costs more but will get you a much more central location.
I have been in this hotel three times in the past 2 years, the service is standard in a sense nothing to complain about. Three times I was there for business and my contact in Sakai picked me up from the airport. I would describe it as a functional hotel for business, a touch of luxury but not really luxury and would not recommend for someone who travel to Osaka from US to use it unless they have a contact or budget conscious. It is not a luxury hotel in the sense of the hotel or the restaurant service. If Thai airline uses it for its crew, it is neither too bad nor too fancy.

Room Tip: Remember no wireless internet in the room only in the lobby though the wireless internet is quite fa...

Few days in Kyoto and this hotel was offered as part of a package. You can tell this hotel used to be a really grand place however the lobby really didnt reflect the room. Our room was clean with a great view of the city but marks on the wall, cracks in the bathroom and it felt generally like it had had its day - comfortable all the same. The hotel staff were awesome and gave a typically Japanease friendly welcome.

No wifi and no free wired internet (1000Y for 24hrs) made the stay more costly than we had hoped. Good location though just a short walk from the main station.
