Stayed here 3 nights straight. It was my first time to Osaka and I found this place to be a great starting point to explore the city.

Connects directly to the Shinsaibashi Subway station (it's literally beneath), walking distance to possibly the most 'happening' street in Osaka where it's filled with food, shops and literally streets and streets of entertainment.

Room was large by Japanese standards and super clean. No smoke smell for me (requested for a non-smoking floor).

Highly recommended! Oh, the buffet breakfast is pretty good too - just that it's exactly the same everyday so I'd give it a day or two and eat out after.

Room Tip: Always request for non-smoking rooms when booking if you don't smoke to avoid disappointment dur...

Great value, great location, absolutely will not be disappointed (if you're just looking for a place to sleep).

I wish I wrote this review right after we visited.

The subway stops at the basement of the hotel--just go up the stairs and you can be at the back entrance.

The room is big enough for myself and my 6'4" husband. I did read that the room is a bit old and so are the furnishings, but I was not there to survey the property--I needed a nice quiet and comfortable room to sleep. This place did the trick. It's also walking distance from the biggest shopping area Dontonburi (at night you'll definitely want to visit this place).

I wish I could say more but really, if you're in a pickle and need good value and a quiet place to sleep, this place is great...and the breakfast buffet is amazing and worth every penny.

Having stayed here recently for two nights, we find this hotel to be conveniently located in the Shinsaibashi area, a shopper's paradise, and an excellent hub for sightseeing in Osaka city. The Midosuji subway line is connected to the hotel, and one can use it to travel to most parts of the city or to connect to other railway lines to nearby cities such as Kyoto, Kobe, etc.

The standard double room here is bigger when compared to rooms of equal category in Japan but having said that we found it difficult to place our 2 small luggages in the room mainly due to the placement of 2 large and cumbersome chairs and a long desk. There was hardly any space left to put our luggages except to put one on a chair and the other on the floor partially blocking the walkway in and out of the room.

Bathroom was clean when we checked in although there was a musty smell from the shower curtain and a hairline crack in the sink.

Wifi is available in the room though speed was intermittently slow at times, and you have to refresh your internet browser every so often to log in again if you have left your mobile devices unused for a certain period of time. This is rather inconvenient to wifi users in the room. The same applies to wifi in the lobby area. However, wifi reception in the Cafe Serena is poor to the extent that we were not even able to surf the internet whilst connected to it.

Breakfast variety at the same cafe is good and had a wide selection of Japanese condiments and western fare as well.

Overall we would rate this hotel 3.5 Stars on TripAdvisor given the shortcomings mentioned above.

We stayed here for 3 night last month during out Japan visit.

This hotel is in a great location … positioned directly above the underground station. You can walk underground to the main Shinsaibashi street via Daimaru Mall … so rain or shine you don't have a problem. Great place as a base to explore Osaka … eating … drinking and of course shopping.

The hotel itself is nice and clean and with the amenities you expected in a 4 stars hotel.

The staff were polite and courteous as most Japanese people are.

The breakfast is buffet style and plenty of choices from Japanese, Asian and Western food. If you are in a hussy they also provided with take away cup for your coffee or tea … nice touch.

There are few restaurants just under the hotel and plenty more nearby.

this hotel readily grabs your attention for its building design in this part of Midousuji Ave. in Osaka. Connected to Shinsaibashi Sta. (M19) it gives you access virtually anywhere downtown. Several blocks would be Nanba (airport access and food), and a lot of shopping stores, boutiques in particular of well-known, established, and cult-brands. The twin accommodations would have two double bed, amply sized room (wide by Japanese standards), loft and a modular bathtub... a respectable city view as you go higher...though some misses for not providing a complete line of toiletry, the hotel is comfortable. would recommend of staying especially you are right near Osaka's shopping vein.

The price was okay, but the room is kind of small comparing to Hyatt and Hilton I stayed in Osaka & Kyoto area. I like the location and all other stuffs, nothing surprise me a lot. There is one thing that I am not that surprise, too. They sometimes can hardly understand my English.
