This Nikko hotel is situated right above subway, the location is very convenient.

I booked a semi double and it is acceptable spacious, especially the bathroom. The room is small as usual in japan. However, if paying such amount, i prefer to go for a budget hotel, e.g. Dormy Inn. The price of paying to Dormy Inn will be more reasonable with breakfast included.

What i can say is, Nikko is a brand name which provide confidence to guests.

This hotel is located right above Shinsaibashi, a very popular place in Osaka. I can see that hotel room is somehow a bit old, but it doesn't really matter as I do not see any mold.
Compared with other hotels in the same area, this one is relatively pricey, while you really get what you pay. I booked a single room, and indeed that was bigger than double room in some budget hotel I've been to (I've attached picture).
And this hotel is still using traditional room key, usually I'll hand over it to hotel staff before I go to avoid any hassle.
I did not asked for any late checkout, but when I wanted to double confirm my checkout time, they offered me 12PM as checkout time, sweet!

Very clean and efficient with superb English speaking staff attention. An ideal hotel position for exploring restaurants, cafes, shopping arcades - especially interesting at night when the neon signs come to life, difficult to find an area less vibrant than this anywhere.
I had a single room, it was larger than how I imagined it would be with a very comfortable bed.
There is a kettle with Japanese black & green tea, no coffee granules or biscuits supplied.
Subway station below or an easy straight walk from Namba station which has direct train access to NIX airport ( Buy a Kansai Thru Pass at airport)
Eating in hotel is expensive, just walk a few minutes to one of the many cafes for breakfast.
Wired only internet in the room or Wi-Fi on the reception floor which has seats available

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group and extended our time here at the end of the tour. The room was perfectly satisfactory, well appointed and well serviced. Some other reviews have written about the rooms still only having key access - not really a problem as you left the key at reception when you went out.
The reception staff were most helpful sorting out the wifi system - it would have been helpful to know to collect a router from the information in the room, but once sorted we had no problems. Others on our tour group did - so maybe it was the location of our room that gave us good internet access.
There was a choice of Western or Japanese breakfast - we ate in both and preferred the Japanese. The western area is very crowded and a bit cafeteria like but plenty of choice. The Japanese was quiet and the food beautifully presented
Only problem with Japanese culture is the smoking, which is still allowed inside and in all eating areas. We were never free from this, only in our room. The foyer area of the hotel leads up from the station area and there are always groups of Japanese business men smoking and this means there is no area besides your room to sit away from the smoke.
The 31st bar area was a great location with views of the city but again so smoky that we had to leave and also quite expensive.
The location is great - just across from the shopping centres and great eating areas. Osaka is such a vibrant city and there is plenty to see. The hotel is located above the train line and gives good access to where ever you want to go.
Note: don't assume that taxi drivers actually understand where you want to go! We asked to go to Osaka castle (one of the main attractions) and we were dropped off in a back street with no map and no Japanese to speak of! Bit of an Amazing Race episode. Always carry a map and/or business card from the hotel!

Stayed at this hotel, which is really well-located in the shopping area of Osaka City. It's directly linked to the Shinsaibashi Subway station on the Mido-suji line. Be sure to exit at Exit 8, so you'll enter straight through the hotel basement floor. It's about 45 minutes from Kansai International Airport (if you don't get lost).
I booked the Economy Double room for 4 nights, and expected a teeny tiny room with no view, but I was pleasantly surprised! We were given a room on the 27th floor, directly facing the Daimaru shopping building, and the size of the room was quite spacious. Enough space for 2 ladies and 2 big suitcases. The view of the city at night was also a nice plus point.
The hotel was always clean and staff were helpful, even though they spoke quite basic English.
Overall, would definitely stay here if I visit Osaka again.

My husband and I just returned from seven days in Osaka at the Hotel Nikko Osaka. Staff were very efficient, check in/out was easy and quick, room was large and immaculate and toiletries were good quality. However, it is not a tourist hotel and in the time we stayed, only saw one other western couple - all other guests were Asian businessmen. My hotel rating is based on the following:
1. There is no tourist desk and reception staff do not book any tours apart from JTB tours which were very expensive. Tours do not pick up at the hotel and hotel staff speak very limited English.
2. The hotel is not on a JR train line (subway only) so you can't use your Pass until you travel to an appropriate station.
3. Apart from shopping, there are no tourist sites in decent walking distance from the hotel. You have to use transport to visit almost everything in Osaka.
4. The buffet breakfast is quite expensive and not worth the money. Half of the 'western' breakfast was Japanese, the food was mostly cold and exactly the same every day. The pastries were delicious though.

Room Tip: The Limousine Bus from the airport stops running at approx 6.30pm. After that, you have to make own...

We had Superior Queen room which was very spacious (by Japanese standards) on the 20th floor with a very nice west looking view. The hotel is very conveniently located right off Exit 8 at the Shinsaibashi subway station. Plenty of shopping and restaurants right outside the hotel.

Room Tip: West facing rooms are great for sunset viewing.
