“Amazed.”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

When you step into the hotel, you will be amazed by the historical and artistic furnitures, amenities, interior design and decoration. It's just like an art gallery with beatiful oil-paintings under soft light along the corridor.

The room key is not digital nor electronic key. They are still using the giant house key like the one using in castle! Elusive staircase linking all three executive floors with the club lounge is warm and touching. You can feel the detailed mind and hearty design for guest staying in the hotel.

Excellent view from room, exquisite Japanese sweets and bites made the stay joyful and pleasant. It's artistics. It's luxurious. It's elegant. It made you fall in love with it.

Osaka Ritz is centrally located, walking distance from the Osaka station and the popular Umeda area. The room is spacious, squeaky clean and the amenities great. I liked the Nespresso machine, which is one of the items that (I think) should be provided in a luxury hotel.
I stayed here for 3 nights around the cherry blossom period and on the second night, the cherry went full blossom. When you exit from the back of the hotel, the walk to Osaka station has plenty of pretty cherry trees that were lit up at night offering a delightful scenery.
The concierge service was exceptional, however the food was outrageously expensive.
There is also a pastry shop with delightful French pastries, the price are reasonable.

All in all, it was a great stay, and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to colleagues, friends and family.

Dear MichikoQC,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thorough review. I am delighted to hear that our new addition to the rooms (Nespresso machine) is well received by our valued customers such as yourself.

Pricing in our hotel is different from outlet to outlet as you noticed, our Michelin star French Restaurant having the highest price point versus our casual Italian restaurant with a lower price point. Our goal is to stay competitive within the market, and making our customers feel they have received best value for what they have paid in terms of overall culinary experience.

Again, thank you so much for your feedback.
We look forward to your return,
Sincerely,

The concierge staff at the Ritz in Osaka is the best! You'll wonder why every hotel does not have a concierge staff so great. From simple inexpensive food recomendations, to interesting galleries to check out, to helping navigate Japanese streets, they are super!

The rooms in the hotel are very quite, great sound insulation, lots of ports for devices.

The swimming pool is the cleanest I've ever seen!

The member's club floor, while nice enough, was not worth the price. Details like the speakers to the sound system provided to plug your cell phone into were blown, made it seem like its time had past.

This is a great Ritz property and a great place to stay in Osaka. Close to the Osaka station(not the shin osaka station), it is an ideal location. the staff are helpful & friendly and go out of their way to help you and make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast is great. The rooms are spacious and have great views of the city. The bed was one of the most comfortable in which I have ever slept. And the pillows were great. Bathroom was spacious with all the amenitites

Room Tip: the higher rooms have great views of the city

I love staying at the Ritz - traditional, intimate and subtle luxury. Osaka is no different. Great location, and my room had a great view. The Club Lounge is comfortable, with a very good manager on duty. About the only problem I had was given a smoking room, and was moved from 33rd floor to 26th -- which was fine. They sent someone to pick up my luggage, and was very courteous. Very enjoyable stay. Teppanyaki at the Japanese restaurant was excellent, but that's a another story.

Room Tip: try to get a corner room, facing the tower.

We usually stay in the Swissotel Nankai Osaka in Namba, which is a good hotel in a good spot, but the Ritz-Carlton Osaka really takes it to the next level. This hotel epitomises luxury. It has the wow factor from the moment you step in, and as expected, the service is exceptional.

The rooms here are very generous, though synonymous with other Ritz Carlton's around the world (European in design with few if any Japanese touches). We enjoyed exploring the lobby. There is a gourmet shop with fantastic pastries and cakes that can be eaten in The Lobby Lounge (just across from the shop), as well as great gift items (jams, deli wares). The gourmet shop is also connected to a chocolate shop, and while we didn't try any of the chocolates, they looked good. There's also a florist in case your stay is a special occasion, and a gift shop with a good selection of items.

Location wise, The Ritz-Carlton is a few blocks away from a busy restaurant street on which the noted Kahala restaurant is also located, and is right next to a department store with luxury brands. It's also a short walk from JR Osaka station.

We had breakfast here as part of our stay, and the selection of Japanese and Western breakfast items are good. They also serve eggs and crispy bacon cooked to order.

The hotel is hard to fault, though if anything, it would have been nice to have bath salts in the room and even a couple of the little chocolates from the chocolate shop on turn down. I figure if the chocolates are good, guests will most probably pop in and pick up a few for themselves!

While it was also a nice change staying in Umeda, I personally prefer the lively atmosphere of Namba. That said, if I was in Umeda, I would definitely stay here again.
