I was in Japan on a business trip . First time at this hotel in Japan
Very good hotel /. Good service / Excellent concierge desk
2 points that they can improve:
They should offered transfer from and to the airport
They should cancel the fee at the bar after 19:00

I had the pleasure of a stay at the Ritz-Carlton. Fully satisfied on every aspect. Rooms facing north may somehow hear trains, but the view is particularly pleasant. Lobby and ground floor display very raffinated decorations -a true pleasure for eyes and spirit. Staff is willing to run the extra mile and fully accustomed to English speaking guests. Very nice Bar with live musicians (very good performers, unfortunately with partially dubbed music). Pleasant room, with very comfortable bed and armchairs. Kinds shuttle to the Bus Terminal stop -with the driver helping you making tickets: a small detail, that prolongues the perception of "they care for me" that the whole Hotel offers. Room and stay value are definitely good (somehow like regular 5 stars hotels in Japan, for Superior/De Luxe Rooms) -high charging for dining and other services.
The "Splendido" restaurant offers superp Italian cuisine, with some respectful innovations in an environment that seems to attract rather young Customers (in their 30s). The maitre is clearly having tight control on guests' comfort -he's been the star of the Hotel, to me.
I may only point out one fact, for western travellers: this excellent hotel has classic Ritz-Carlton wood, lamps, furnitures (mostly empire or late empire style) - if you look for contemporary design or Japanese style, this is not the place.

I stayed several hotels in Osaka but this is by far the best in Osaka. It is conveniently located near the Umeda District where you can enjoy high end restaurants. With a corporate rate, I think this hotel is very competitively priced.

We were upgraded to a Club Suite. It was paradise... From the fantastic bed, not too hard, not too soft, lovely pillows, to the attention we got from the club staff in planning our sightseeing and finding & reserving restaurants. The restaurants at the hotel were a bit overpriced, but really nice. The only thing is that Osaka is more of a business and less of a sightseeing environment than we thought. But.. Kyoto, Nara and Kobe are around the corner (less than an hour away).

The hotel is attached to Osaka station by an indoor shopping mall, it includes a jazz club where we saw Kool & the gang perform, a trip back to the 70's for me!

We LOVED Kansai and we loved the RC hotel even more!

Utter comfort, good location, brilliant service at this wonderful hotel.
Classic views over the futuristic landscape of Osaka.
The pool is excellent and comes equipped with pool floats and kickboards, which is a nice touch. There's also a good spa complete with sauna and hot and cold baths - if you take a locker they will charge you 1000yen for the pleasure of accessing the spa - but otherwise it seems you can use them for free as a hotel guest.
Underneath is a convenient food plaza - we had one great Italian meal and one moderate Indian one (we ate our Japanese food elsewhere in Osaka).
One of the days we stayed there was a typhoon - thanks to the subterranean walkways and shopping centre, we were still able to enjoy a full day of checking out Japanese shops without getting soaking wet.

Good, clean hotel, with kind and helpful staff.
They did not do anything extraordinary to make this anything super special.
Location is OK, with underground access to Osaka-Station.

Value was not great and it just did not feel like a top notch hotel.

Only a short trip on te bullet train from Tokyo, Osaka seems very different. More traditional but in positive ways. A city full of brilliant bra and restaurants. Huge fans of Whisky, making this perfect for me. Stopping at Bar K and Bar Hiramatsu.
The Carlton here has brilliant service and wonderful staff. This made our trip to Osaka even more special. A brilliant place to say, will be going back soon!
