Fraser Residence Nankai Osaka
Ranked #4 of 333 Hotels / Ryokan in Osaka

Reviewed November 27, 2012

We stayed at here for 2 nights from 25 Nov. The location of this residence is excellent, easy to find and near to the main station (Namba). Everything is in walking distance, Dotondori, Shinsaibashi, department Stores, etc. (I went to a 2nd hand book store nearby

Staff are friendly and helpful, they speak good english. We were very satisfied when we walked into our room even we were staying in one-bedroom residence on a lower floor (not noisy at all), it was exactly what it was shown in the website. it is a nice, clean, well equipped, cosy apartment.

There are convenience store and restaurants nearby. And one night we decided to get some ingredients and make dinner at the apartment. There is a local grocery store in Dotondori area, the price is very resonable there. We also bought other ingredients from the supermarket in Takashiyama, price would be a bit higher than the items sold in grocery store.

The equipment/home appliance in the apartment is wonderful, DVD, cable tv, stereo, etc. We want to get the same washing machine at our home ... XD

In conclusion ... a home away from home ... we will stay here again next year.

Firstly, had difficulty finding hotel, as I missed the right exit from Namba station, late at night. Taking the wrong station exit in Osaka is critical. However, I called the hotel & somebody actually came out & collected me.
Had a one bedroom room on the 13th floor booked with Agoda. Well appointed with new equipment, sofa, kitchen, 2 TVs, iron, safe - in fact everything you could possibly need. slippers, pyjamas, washer / dryer.
Free wifi throughout the building.
The bathroom was a kind of plastic cubical & felt functional rather than "luxurious". Mind you, lovely heated seat on the WC complete with bottom washer.....unusual facility for a westerner to use !
They changed all the bedding, pyjamas & towels every day - whether you wanted it or not.
Staff extremely helpful & friendly. Complimentary breakfast ( basic) provided.
Great place to stay in the centre of the Namba district of Osaka.

We stayed at the one bedroom apartment. It is a very well equipped apartment, complete brand new items eg. washing machine, cooking utensils, etc. and very comfortable bedding. There is a wardrobe area which was complete with ironing board, etc.

The location is very ideal - do note that the Nankai Namba station is huge with many exits, so if you are staying at this hotel, use the Exit 5 and you will see the hotel building easily from the the distance.

The hotel is near to the Namba City shopping mall and lots of affordable restaurants. One of the highly recommended tempura restaurant, Daikichi (located at Namba City), is just about 10 mins walk from the hotel. The tempura was great, at reasonable prices.

The hotel staff were very friendly and help, giving us directions in English. Even though we had checked out, it was raining and the hotel staff even offered to walk with us to the nearby Nankay Station, so that she could collect the umbrellas she had lent to us.

There is a guest lounge on the 2nd floor with quality reading materials in English, and we could make use of this after we had checked out and had some time to kill before our train to the airport.

Overall, we will stay in this hotel again if we go back to Osaka.

Stayed at their 2 bedroom apartment on 5th level and the location is pure fanastic... diagonally opposite is the train to Nankai station airport and also takashimaya. The bathroom shower is pure solid and you do not need to bring too much clothings as the washing machine is easy to use too.... the pillows & beds are pure comfortable and my family had a good 6 pure nights of sleeping..... we will be back definitely to Frasers residence again.......

Room Tip: Maybe rooms on the number 01 to 05 facing will behaving better room views

The location of this hotel is very convenient if you're taking the subway as the Nankai Namba station is just around the corner. If you're coming from the JR station, you'll need to walk for abt 300-400m to reach the hotel, still walkable. Checking in was a breeze, good. The room I had was a studio, booked via agoda, complete with the kitchenette, microwave and washing machine (beside the usual amenities). Detergent is for sale at ¥100 for 2 packs. They hv provided a book full of manuals (translated instructions) to use all the electrical eqpmnt as all of the labels are written in Japanese. The room size is small but still manageable. There is also a sizeable cabinet near the entrance, which is thoughtful too. The in-room wifi signal was really good. I even used the Guest Lounge at 2nd floor to use the PC (can't remember hw much it cost per 15 min), and the room was comfortable too.. The room came with breakfast but i didnt hv the chance to try any. Overall can't fault anything with this hotel. Would def return..

The hotel is an apartment with kitchen and laundry - separate bedroom lounge etc. Breakfast is provided by next door restaurnat and that is only negative I would have of my whole stayas it is very basic - the rooms and services provided within are excellent and trhe staff could not be faulted. Loication is good with esxcellent restaurnats and options nearby as well as street shopping within 5 minutes as opposed to depeartment type or brand shops - even the fish market neraby is interesting

this was my second stay and I bought a small group of friends they loved it also

Fraser Nankai is an excellent service apartment - modern, clean and new and the staff is helpful and can speak good English.

It is directly across the Namba Train Station - Nankai Airport Line. Once you arrive at the station, walk out the arrival hall and turn left and and then walk up the elevators on your right, and you arrive at the traffic light junction. Accross your left is McDonalds and your right is Swissotel. Cross the road junction towards the 130Y Okonomiyaki Red Stall and right behind it, is Frasers Nankai.

If you are thinking of adding an extra bed or a baby cot for your child, please do not book the Studio Unit but book the One Bedroom Apt instead. The Studio Apt is too small to add in the bed but it was not stated in their hotel website.

Nearby are convenience shops 24 hrs - Lawson and Sunkus on the right of the hotel. Many eateries around the corners.

Namba Nankai has many trains and subway connections to bring you around Osaka and has direct connection to Nara and Kobe. Easy and fast.

Room Tip: Rooms at higher level.
