We went here specifically to have a nice Kobe Beef Meal in Osaka Japan. We got the top grade steak, vegetables, scallops, garlic rice, and wine and our meal was amazing. One of the best meals I have eaten, and probably the best steak/ beef meal I have ever had. The Kobe is out of this world, and probably the type of experience you can only have in Japan where this type of beef is raised. The restaurant itself is nice - a little out of the way from the Dotenbori neighborhood where we stayed, but amazing food with top notch chef cooking at our table, was worth it. If you have a proper meal with wine and sides, and order the best Kobe steak (which you should if you bother to go here), be prepared to spend a lot of money per person. Much more than the range listed here. We spent about $200 / per person.
We were happy we splurged here!

As an American who loves frequenting teppanyaki (Japanese steakhouse) restaurants in the US, nothing compares to the meal we had at Steak Ron. Having never tried real kobe beef, I was eager to see if the taste matches the price. We weren't let down. The chef prepared kobe a variety of ways, all amazing and delights to the palate of any steak lover. One of the most surprising dishes was the steak sushi - a thin slice of raw steak on rice with a dab of wasabi in the middle. The meat was so tender it literally dissolved in my mouth with a similar consistency to o-toro (fatty tuna) sushi. I recommend going with one of the set menus, sitting back and enjoying the variety of soups, steak, vegetables and rice you will get. I also recommend getting the garlic fried rice. A meal there will definitely cost you some $$$, but for a first in a lifetime experience, it is worth it.

Staff at this restaurant was friendly and attentive. I would recommend you go with the tenderloin and garlic fried rice. Also the garlic chips were a nice touch! Pretty expensive place (For me it was steak plus garlic rice for one >280 USD).

If anyone is looking for an excellent Kobe beef meal, I recommend Steak Ron in Osaka. The beef is prepared hibachi style, without the flashy show, along with a number of side dishes, including fried rice, shrimp and tempura vegetables to name a few. I've never had beef this tender and the accompying sauces and garlic chips only enhanced the experience. Based on the tables around us, beer was the drink of choice. However, we broke from the group and tried our luck with their wine list. It was not very extensive, but offers enough options to satisfy those interested.
